FREESTYLE COMPETITION (continued)
MONSTER PATROL
After getting the added advantage of checking out the course in Awesome Kong, Rex Smith came out ready to rock and roll in the Monster Patrol!! Smith was on a mission during his run, keeping the momentum going with a number of high-flying passes over the cars and over the RV camper!! But the highlight of the run came when Smith slid the truck around at the far end of the arena and went right for the huge FMX hill that none of the other drivers had dared attempt!! Smith went right up and over, and finished the run with a few more nice hits. Overall the high-paced momentum and unique move in this freestyle should be enough to put him over the top, but let's see what Lauren Bonar has to say!!
DAD'S SCORE: 9!!
With a score of 9 from unofficial judge Lauren Z. Bonar, Monster Patrol would take the win!! But again, it would be up to the official judges, all of the fans in the stands to decide who would be the winner!! Would it be the high flying action from Monster Patrol, the awesome donuts and RV destruction of Born to Be Wild, or the fiery finish from Charles Benns in the Pit Bull??
Once again, there was no question that his hometown crowd wanted to see the Pit Bull take the big win, and with overwhelming support, Pit Bull was declared the winner of the Freestyle competition!! Congratulations from all of here at THE MONSTER BLOG to Charles Benns in the Pit Bull on his very popular win!!
FINAL WORDS
All in all, a great night of action thanks to Danny Torgerson and all the folks from Torgerson Motorsports!! Also a huge thanks to my parents, Lauren & Lynette Bonar for attending and covering this event for THE MONSTER BLOG for all of you to enjoy!! A congratulations to Dad on his first night out with his new digital camera. The learning curve can be quite steep with some of these more professional cameras like the Nikon D50, and although all the shots didn't come out quite like Dad might have liked and there were many more that were too blurry to post, all in all a great job from Dad, and a big thank you once again for going for all of us!!
This was the first of the coverages from my parents out west, but will certainly not be the last. Still to come is coverage from the Tuba City, AZ Western Navajo Fair that featured Monster Trucks and Mud Racing. Also, mom and dad plan on attending the next Torgerson event in Glendale, AZ in January featuring 8 trucks leading up to the HUGE Monster Jam at Bank One Ballpark in Phoenix, AZ!! Some great stuff is coming soon to THE MONSTER BLOG, courtesy of Lauren & Lynette Bonar!! Be sure to leave them some feedback on the Fan Forum, and thanks for reading!!
