Rushville, IL Monster Truck Show Highlight Video!!:  After weeks of on and off rain in the Rushville area, the Schuyler County Fairgrounds was blessed with beautiful skies and great weather for a 4th of July celebration featuring monster trucks!!  This was the first time an actual monster truck show was featured at the Schuyler County Fair and reports from fair officials indicate a record breaking crowd!!  Providing the action were the Quadzilla, Viper, Bad News, and Barbarian monster trucks, and our own Colby Marshall was on hand to cover the event. The wheelie contest was won by Devin Jones in Barbarian, while Bruce Haney in Bad News Travels Fast picked up the Chicago-style racing victory. Freestyle would see all four trucks put on a show for the fans, with the highlight being a wild run from Devin and Barbarian. A special thanks to Bobby Paul and the Monster Motorsports of America staff for their hospitality and to the teams and drivers for their efforts. Colby's awesome monsters and fireworks highlight video is now online, click the link below to check it out!!  (07/08/08)

Big Trucks = Big Success: Truk Wurks Open House a Hit!!:  (Greencastle, IN) The Truk Wurks team is pleased to report that their first annual open-house event at their Greencastle, IN headquarters this 4th of July weekend was a smash hit!

The Bar's Leaks Eliminator monster truck sat on display all weekend, joined by the team's classic show truck "Whiskey Runner"; this duo caused quite a commotion, bringing in truck enthusiasts and families all weekend long. "We couldn't be more pleased with our turn out this weekend," said Truk Wurks general manager Greg Adams. "This has been a tough and exciting challenge to get our brand-new Truk Wurks show room and service center up and running, but if this weekend is any indication of what's to come, I think our hard work will pay off," he added.

Truk Wurks customers will be able to buy and/or custom order all manner of aftermarket products for their car, truck, SUV, or race vehicle. In addition to that, Truk Wurks will also offer custom fabrication services, installation of parts, vehicle tuning, and diesel repair. Greg Adams will oversee the majority of the operation as general manager, with son Zach Adams serving as shop foreman. Kyle Doyle will be assisting with marketing and sales duties, while long-time team member Michael Honcho will be handling outside sales tasks. "We've got a great staff put together with a diverse background, so we will be able to serve our customers from start to finish. From product research and consulting to purchasing and right up to the installation and beyond, we've got them covered!" said Adams.

The team will also continue to campaign the Bar's Leaks Eliminator monster truck out of the Truk Wurks shop. As part of its Bar's Leaks sponsorship, the team is planning an aggressive static display schedule to augment their race/show schedule. "With the Bar's Leaks Eliminator, we bring to the table a powerful marketing tool that can assist promoters in generating ticket sales and increasing event awareness," Adams mentioned. "Bar's Leaks products are retailed at auto parts stores and discount stores like Wal-Mart all over the country, so we feel that the Bar's Leaks truck will be a great asset in helping promoters build a successful event by featuring the truck on display prior to a race," he added.
For more inforation on the Truk-Wurks shop, the team as a whole, and the Bar's Leaks Eliminator monster truck, be sure to visit www.Truk-Wurks.com. The team is planning some big updates for the Truk Wurks website, to be sure to check back often for more news and content!! (07/08/08)

Lucas Oil Speedway Diamond of Destruction Event Postponed:  (Wheatland, MO) After continuing to look at our remaining 2008 schedule, we are making changes that make sense for our current economic climate. With that being said, the weekly racing scheduled for August 9th has been canceled and the Monster Truck/Demolition Derby scheduled for August 10th has been postponed.
"We had three straight days of racing scheduled for this weekend," said Kevin Greven, General Track Manager. "Weekly racing on Saturday, Monster Trucks and Demo on Sunday and the O'Reilly Sprint Bandits on Monday. With gas prices and the general economy, many fans have to make some hard choices when it comes to their motor sports entertainment dollar. This weekend, we are simply helping by eliminating some of those decisions."
The O'Reilly Sprint Bandits made the cut and will run as scheduled on Monday night August 11th. This is their first stop after leaving Knoxville on the "2008 Touring Topless" Midwest swing.
"These 410 wingless sprints will be, with out a doubt, our wildest show this year," added Greven. "If there is one event this season that race fans in the Midwest should consider a must see, this is it!"  Track officials are currently looking at optional dates for the Monster Truck and demolition derby event. Watch www.LucasOilSpeedway.com for further updates. (07/03/08)

New Look for Big Dummy!!:  Frank Schettini has given Big Dummy another new look, with Pro Comp Tires back on the side of the truck as he prepares for a big summer tour. Frank and the Pro Comp Tires trucks will be in Colorado, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Georgia, as well as competing at the Canfield, OH Jeep & Truck Fest for the second year in a row. Thanks to Frank for the update and the photo, be watching for them on the road this summer!!  (07/03/08)

Dishman, Balhan Emerge Victorious In Springfield, IL!!:  The Special Events Performance Series returned to the Illinois State Fairgrounds this weekend for the annual 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals!!  Featured at the huge event was the Monster Truck Thunder Drags, with seven top trucks competing in racing brackets and freestyle exhibitions. Three racing competitions were scheduled for the weekend, but rain washed away Sunday's race leaving only the freestyle exhibition. Saturday however, featured some close racing with Geremie Dishman taking down Monster Jam Racing Champ John Seasock in Batman in the finals of the early event. Seasock again made the final round in the late race, but George Balhan took the win in Monster Mutt. Jim Koehler kept the crowd on their feet Saturday with some classic Avenger freestyle, including bringing the truck back to all fours after rolling onto the side. A big thanks to Monster Blog Staff Member Kyle Doyle and Special Contributor Colby Marshall for handling the coverage in Springfield--be watching for a big photo gallery from Kyle and a special video coverage from Colby featuring all the action and some behind the scenes interviews by KD. Another thanks goes to the fine folks from Special Events for their great hospitality, as always, and to all the teams and drivers for their efforts. Check out www.FamilyEvents.com for more information on the 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals and Monster Truck Thunder Drags!!  (06/30/08)

Rochester, MN Monster Madness Photo Gallery!!:  The Olmstead County Fairgrounds shook with the power of monster trucks Saturday afternoon, as Monster Madness '08 presented by Monster-Mojo Live Events came to Rochester, MN!!  Four top trucks competed in racing and freestyle including Kreg Christensen in Iron Outlaw, Darren Migues in Bounty Hunter, Jim Bendzick in Rolling Thunder, and Paul Strong in Martial Law. The finals of racing would come down to CSK team trucks Bounty Hunter and Iron Outlaw, with Kreg Christensen taking the win and the Magic Media Monster Cup. All four trucks would entertain the crowd in freestyle with hard-charging runs on the muddy track, but in the end it would be up to the fans to choose between Iron Outlaw and Rolling Thunder for the win. It was close, but the win would go to Jim Bendzick and Rolling Thunder. Our good friend Josh Kirscher was on hand for all the action and was kind enough to provide us with the recap and a photo gallery from the event. Thanks to Josh for the great photos, you can check them out now by clicking the link below!! (06/30/08)

Also on hand were Daron Basl in El Matador, Rich Blackburne in Viper and Doug Charles in Bearfoot.
