SUBMISSION GUIDELINES & CONTEST RULES
The following are some general
guidelines to try to follow when submitting pictures for the Picture of
the Week contest:
1. Please include your first and
last name in you email.
2. Preferred size of pictures is
640 x 480. Please try to ensure that your picture is at least 600
pixels in width.
3. Watermarking and/or logos of
any kind on the photo are not allowed.
4. Pictures will be due in by
Midnight CST on the Friday night of the given week. Submissions
missing this deadline will be entered into the following week's contest.
5. Pictures will be judged by the
following panel: Ross Z. Bonar, Rajeana M. Bonar, and Lauren Z. Bonar.
The average finish of each photo on the judges' ballots determines the
final finishing order.
6. In weeks where there are no
entries or too few entries, there will be no Picture of the Week winner
that week. Entries will be carried over to the next week's contest.
7. Picture of the Month winners
will be announced on the main page and their winning photo will be
displayed the week following their victory. Winning photos will also
be entered into the Picture of the Year competition.
8. There is no disputing winners
chosen by The Monster Blog staff. This has always been a "for fun"
contest, but now that their is an award attached, we want to put this out
there before we start getting complaints. We provide this contest as
a fun way to share your pictures and possibly win a small prize.
Excessive complaints may result in the complete scrapping of the contest
all together.
9. No Photoshop'ed (i.e. obvious
special effects) or Black &
White photos allowed!! This isn't to be mean or to stunt creativity,
its just that it is very hard to judge these pictures against the rest of
the entries, and we want to keep things on a level playing field.

with the subject of the email being "Picture of the Week." Please
