DONUT COMPETITION

Sunday afternoon was another great show by all the drivers and teams. Features of the day were the donut contest and the wheelie contest. The wheelie contest started off with a bang as Dave Harkey in Bigfoot nailed the concrete retaining wall during his attempt, folding in a wheel pretty bad.

Another highlight that everyone had to notice as Madusa announced was that Ronnie Sturges was putting up some pretty awesome wheelies--in the donut contest!  Ronnie never attempted a donut in Nasty Boy, showing off his keen sense of humor by confusing everyone include Madusa. Madusa was saying to the crowd, "Does he not know this is a Donut Contest??" lol  Nasty Boy isn't much of a donut truck, but it is a great wheelie truck, so rather than do subpar donuts, better to do great wheelies was Ronnie's logic I guess.

Chris Bergeron in Brutus also fell victim to the concrete retaining wall, as during his donut the truck slammed into the wall, folding up a rim as well and sending concrete flying. Some of the best donut attempts included those by Avenger, Bounty Hunter, and King Krunch, but once again, there just was no beating Tom Meents in Maximum Destruction. Congrats to Tom for taking the donut contest win as well.

WHEELIE COMPETITION

Sam “ The Man “ Sturges took the Wheelie Contest win with a number of great wheelies. Honorable mention goes to Ronnie Sturges driving Nasty Boy as he twice during the wheelie competition had air under both rear tires and was balanced on his wheelie bar alone, sending up a shower of sparks. Notable attempts were also made by Avenger and Summit Bigfoot. Kudos to Dave Harkey for bringing out Bigfoot, folded rim and all, and giving the contest a try. The first landing off the wheelie tires folded the rim in even further, but it was cool of the Bigfoot team to send him out anyway for the fans.

FREESTYLE COMPETITION

Finally there was an abbreviated freestyle competition that was really more of an exhibition "for the fans". Originally there was only the donut and wheelie contests scheduled for Sunday, but three trucks decided to head out for one last freestyle to close out the weekend.  Jim Kohler in Avenger and Linsey Weenk in Iron Outlaw both made nice runs, and Tom Meents drove like a man posessed once again to pick up another victory on the weekend.
