FREESTYLE COMPETITION

SCARLET BANDIT

Dawn Creten in Scarlet Bandit did her usual great high flying routine with a donut thrown in. One of the better runs we've seen from Dawn, it seems as though she is really starting to push that new truck to its limits.

BULLDOZER

Kevin Lewis in Bulldozer put on an impressive freestyle, filling in for Chuck Werner. Kevin got great air and hit the FMX hill with no fear. Solid run.

IRON OUTLAW

Kreg Christensen in Iron Outlaw returned for freestyle and put on an awesome performance in his new ride. Kreg is going to be one of the primary contenders at the World Finals this year.

BATMAN

John Seasock in Batman also put on some high flying action, then as his time was running out went into a cyclone, flipping on his top. John was robbed by the judges as was McGruff & Obsession. It gets worse!!

BLUE THUNDER

Tony Farrell in Blue Thunder put on one of the better runs we've seen from him in person, getting big air, being the first one to go over the stacks sideways, for an overall great performance and the judges gave him a competitive score for the lead.

BOUNTY HUNTER

Jimmy Creten in Bounty Hunter did everything!  I mean everything, to include the only wheelie of the evening and came away with a score of 24 and a tie with Blue Thunder. Probably a pretty low score for the quality of the run Jimmy put forth.

MAXIMUM DESTRUCTION

Neil
Elliot in Maximum Destruction put on a typical Maximum Destruction freestyle, meaning it was awesome. Neil Elliot was driving so hard, the body of Max-D looked like it was doing its best to escape from the vehicle!  Max D ended with two shocks sticking out of the hood, after breaking lose from their mounts and shooting up through the fiberglass. Very nice run with a 25, and the new leader.

GRAVE DIGGER

Dennis Anderson in Grave Digger put on one of the best freestyles I have ever seen live. Two great saves, some incredible air, and finally a huge leap followed by a long attempt to save an out of control truck before finally losing a wheel and ending on the lid. The Phoenix crowd was going wild for Anderson when the judges flashed up a score of....22?!?!

The way I would have judged this would have been a three-way tie, with a cheer-off between Bounty Hunter, Grave Digger and Maximum Destruction. But that's how it goes with fan judging.

Tonight’s winners were Dennis Anderson in Grave Digger winning racing and Neil Elliot in Maximum Destruction taking freestyle. Rick Swanson in Obsession takes the three wheel donut contest, lol.
