  • Wild Monster Mash in Lebanon!!:  The monster trucks roared into the Laclede County Fairgrounds for two big shows today featuring Bigfoot, Big Dawg, Gun Slinger, & Monkey'N Around!!  The early show saw Doug Noelke taking the win in the wheelie contest, but it was Rick Long in Bigfoot dominating the rest of the show, winning the racing and freestyle competitions. Unfortunately Bigfoot broke a timing chain at the end of his freestyle, ending his day for good. In the evening show, Big Dawg took another wheelie contest win but was then defeated by Scott Hartsock in Gun Slinger for the racing victory.  Freestyle saw an awesome performance by Noelke, but it was once again Hartsock taking the win after taking a wild ride to end the show!!  Gun Slinger launched off the wheelie bump, but turned sideways in the air, landed hard, tearing off a wheel, and rolled onto his side. Check out the preview video down below, which shows Gun Slinger's wild ride.  Thankfully Scott was ok, but the truck is in need of some work before their next event. A huge thanks to Gail Bryant, Ron Taylor, and all the folks with the City of Lebanon who put this show on--everyone did a fantastic job and we are already looking forward to next year!!  Much more to come from this show soon!!  (09/30/06)

The course is being setup for Chicago-style racing, and the City of Lebanon crew has brought out four vans and a bus for freestyle!!  Come on out to see the show, tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for children ages 3-12, and ages 3 and under are admitted Free!!  TheMonsterBlog.com will be on hand to cover all the action, so be watching the site for more from this show!!  (09/29/06)

  • BIGFOOT Presents Meteor & The Mighty Monster Trucks!!:  (Hazelwood, MO) Hey BIGFOOT fans, don't forget to check out "BIGFOOT Presents Meteor and the Mighty Monster Trucks" on Discovery Kids channel, which debuted September 25th, and will air every weekday at 10:30 am ET and 1:30 pm ET. Also, the show will debut on TLC October 2nd at 8:00 am ET/PT.

  • Natural High's Lucky #18!!:  (Natural High PR)  Kelvin Ramer and #18 Natural High ran away with the Round 18 Obstacle Course victory this past Saturday in Chillicothe, Ohio. The track was wet and muddy and took a lot of driving skill and strategy. This was Kelvin’s first win for the Monsters of Destruction (MOD) TV series.
The number 18 is the Ramer family’s Lucky Number. Back on October 18, 1980, Kelvin Ramer asked his girlfriend Janette to go steady. Together they would do something special on the 18th of each month, and got married on June 18, 1983. Kelvin was 18 years old. Their son, Ben was born on August 18, 1999. When Kelvin won his Kart Racing Championship, he did it in Kart #81 (someone was already using #18). Natural High’s 18th paid performance (and first MOD show) was MOD rounds 17 and 18 in Monroe, Washington in August, 2005.

So this year, when Chris Kingston of the MOD race series assigned numbers to each of the trucks, we naturally requested 18. The number 18 has a lot of meaning and a lot of memories for our family. Kelvin’s first MOD victory in Round 18 has added one more. It is really special to our family that truck #18’s first time winning a MOD race happened in Round 18.  (09/27/06)

  • TVT 24-7® Lubricants & 2Xtreme Racing Ink Sponsorship Deal!!:  (Tonganoxie, KS)  NRG Resources, Inc, producers of the revolutionary TVT 24-7® line of automotive and industrial lubricants has signed on to support the hard-hitting monster truck team of Jimmy and Dawn Creten. The trucks – Bounty Hunter, Scarlet Bandit and Iron Outlaw are among the sport’s top contenders and compete in nearly 50 events each year.

“The Creten’s monster truck team is a perfect way to help promote the Total Vehicle Treatment 24-7® line. They perform at the top level and are a great avenue to demonstrate the benefits of using our products. Not many vehicles are put through the abuse that these trucks are,” commented NRG Resources’ Chief Marketing Officer, Don Borba. Part of the product line is TVT 24-7® Engine Treatment which has been used in the team’s massive 555 cubic inch supercharged motors for several months. “I’ve noticed significantly less wear on the bearings and cylinder walls since we’ve been using the Engine Treatment” noted owner and tuner Jimmy Creten. Additionally, should the oiling system fail the TVT 24-7® Engine Treatment leaves a polarized layer of oil molecules, which will dramatically reduce scoring and engine damage.
The monster trucks, recognizable by their unique S.U.V. bodies and backed by primary sponsor Checker, Schuck’s and Kragen Auto Parts primarily compete on the USHRA Monster Jam Series and can be seen regularly on the SPEED Channel. All consistent winners on the tour, Creten and Bounty Hunter captured their first championship at the Monster Jam World Finals in 2005. The team’s website is located at http://www.bountyhunter4x4.com.
NRG Resources, Inc. is the developer, manufacturer and worldwide distributor of the most technologically advanced line of high performance automotive and industrial lubricant products. More information about the company and its products can be found at http://www.tvt247.com. (09/27/06)

  • Geremie Dishman Takes the Championship!!:  The Special Events season points battle ended Sunday afternoon with a new champion being crowned--Geremie Dishman and Rammunition!!  Going into the weekend's events, Dishman and teammate Mark Hall in Raminator were tied atop the Monster Truck Thunder Drags points with 2200 a piece. Rain washed out the racing portion of the Friday and Saturday shows, so it all came down to Sunday afternoon.  As fate would have it, it would once again be the two Hall Brothers Racing teammates in the final round--one race for all the marbles.  In the end, it would be the black Dodge crossing the line first and taking home the big prize.  TheMonsterBlog.com and owners Ross & Rajeana Bonar personally send our congratulations to Geremie and the whole Hall Brothers Racing team.  Much more coverage to come from our muddy weekend at the Indy Jamboree!!  (09/24/06)

  • Shockwave Team Update!!:  I received the following update from Shockwave Team crew member and webmaster David: "A lot of people have been asking where has Shockwave gone to and why hasn't the truck been running since finishing 10th in the CFP Points Standings this winter?  Well to answer your question, some fans knew that we were having problems with the motor and finally in Trenton, NJ, the motor went on the truck.
Owners Bill and Kim Braukmann decided this summer to have a brand new motor built which will soon be going into the truck. While the truck has been awaiting the new motor, Bill and Kim have been hard at work with their business. The business continues to grow after recent expansions.
The new motor for Shockwave isn't the only thing the team is excited about.  This is the first time being reported online that Bill has been in contact with Dan Patrick on a new truck.  More information will be released as it becomes available.
Rumors have swirled that Shockwave is currently for sale. This is not the case, and we assure our fans that Shockwave will be back in action soon. You will be able to see the truck running events with CFP and USHRA. The truck still has dates available so if your interested in booking the truck, contact the team through their website at Shockwave4x4.com or if you would like to speak to Bill or Kim directly you can email David at David@Shockwave4x4.com for their number."  (09/21/06)

  • HBR, IRF Join Forces to Save Rhinos at the Races!!: (Champaign, IL) Hall Brothers Racing of Champaign, IL and their Dodge Raminator & Rammunition monster truck team have teamed up with the North American Save the Rhinos Campaign to help the American public better understand the plight of rhinos around the globe. Managed by the International Rhino Foundation (IRF), a non-profit group formed in the 1980’s, in partnership with the Association of Zoos & Aquariums’ Rhino Advisory Group, the North American Save the Rhinos Campaign was sparked by a major commitment from Marc Ecko and his New York City-based Ecko Unltd. clothing company.
Fans attending this year’s Advance Auto Parts 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals in Indianapolis, IN on September 22-24th at the Indiana State Fairgrounds will be able to stop by the Hall Brothers Racing pit area to learn more about the Save the Rhinos Campaign and the rhino species it will benefit. They will also be able to make donations to the cause. John Lukas, president of the IRF, said “This campaign is critical to ensuring that rhinos continue to exist in nature. Rhinos have suffered enough at the hands of poachers. It’s time to halt this massive decline.”
Brookfield Zoo Mammal Curator Ann Petric noted that “Today’s wild rhinos live in protected areas like parks and game reserves. Their future requires collaboration with local communities and continued protection from poachers and habitat encroachment.”
Though Hall Brothers Racing is well known for their success on and off track with their Raminator and Rammunition monster trucks, the team also has a soft spot for animals, especially rhinos. Team manager and crew chief Tim Hall has been directly involved with Chicago’s Brookfield Zoo rhino program. “The world population of rhinos is a mere 2% of what it was a couple hundred years ago,” said Tim Hall. “Our team is extremely happy to be helping a cause such as this.”
Julie Anton Dunn, Campaign manager, added “Our goal is to raise awareness of what’s happening to rhinos in Africa and Asia by reaching all sectors of the American public. With each contribution to the campaign, we are increasing knowledge of the need to protect rhinos, before it’s too late.”
To learn more about rhinos and the challenges for survival that they face and how you can help, please visit www.rhinos-irf.org/savetherhinos. If you are interested in attending the 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals in Indianapolis and visiting the Hall Brothers Racing pit area, please visit www.familyevents.com and www.raminator.com for more information.  (09/18/06)
