OUTLAW MONSTER TRUCK SPECTACULAR

JUNE 3RD, 2006 - PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ

FREESTYLE COMPETITION (continued)

EL BANDITO

Next out to freestyle was Tim “Cornfed” Martin in El Bandito.  Tim had a pretty good night racing, but the freestyle run was very slow--I am sure he did as well as El Bandito would let him, but the truck wasn't responding very well and it was not a memorable run.

AWESOME KONG

Vance LaRue in Awesome Kong was up next.  Another Don's Monsters team truck, and another very slow moving truck--I am sure some repairs would take place after this event because the truck was mostly just idling around the course until Vance was ready to make a move.  However, when he did make moves, they were quite good, as he jumped the camper, crushed cars, tried a donut, and blasted through the mud put.  Awesome Kong went through the mud pit much easier and faster than the mud boggers--I wonder why, lol.  I think those big 66" tires might have something to do with that!!

UNNAMED & UNTAMED

Sam Sturges in Unnamed & Untamed came roaring out doing the things the Sturges team does best--Jumping cars and getting air!!  Unfortunately Sam was unable really hook up any of of his great wheelies that he so well known for.  Sam tried a different approach this time, going with some donuts, and getting up on the racing portion of the track, right in front of the crowd, to do them.  Once he got it going, he was a wild man.  So wild in fact, that he scared Ronnie and Ronnie had him shut down with the RII system.  It was not a bad call as Sam was nearing the concrete wall.  No sense in messing up a perfectly good monster truck with a--especially one with an awesome new Monster Blog Decal on it!!

Though Sam and the others did a very nice job, in the end, there was no doubt that Murph McCrorey's destruction of the RV Camper had won him the competition, making for a clean sweep for the young man in McGruff.

All in all, it was probably not the most memorable event we've been to, but it certainly was a solid night of monster truck action, and we had a great time. Thanks to all the drivers and teams for putting on a good show, and to the promoter and the track for all their hard work.  We hope you enjoyed the pictures and story, stop by the Fan Forum and let us know what you thought!!  Thanks for reading!!
