FREESTYLE COMPETITION (continued)

THE BEAST

When the crowd heard the powerful Beast start up in the infield and saw Bobby Holman starting to roll out onto the track, they went nuts!!  Holman was going for the clean sweep of the event, and he was determined to make sure the crowd went home thinking of the Beast.  Holman brought the truck out going back and forth over the car set, getting some awesome air, and really airing out all that horsepower during his run.  But the highlights of the run were some awesome donuts that were blocked out of my view by the FMX hill.  Speaking of the FMX hill, that was an obstacle none of the other trucks dared touch.  Not Bobby Holman!!  Holman roared right up the FMX hill, stopping on the slope, as the crowd went crazy.  Holman backed down the truck and finished the run with some more huge air, and the crowd was sold!!  There was still one truck left, but unless Sean Duhon could pull off the run of his life, we had just saw the winning run!!

KICKER

After some very hard work and thrashing on the truck from the team, Sean Duhon was able to bring the Kicker out to Freestyle for the fans.  Unfortunately the truck still didn't seem to be at top performance, and Kicker's run would be short and unspectacular.  Kudos to the team for their hard work in getting the truck back into competition, however, and the fans let them know that their effort was appreciated.

That would be all for Monster Truck Freestyle, and it was time to see who the crowd thought was the winner.  With polite applause for Sudden Impact, Kicker, & Venom, the crowd really made some noise when the announcer asked who thought Nitemare had won.  But even as loud as they were at that prompting, the crowd was the loudest when the announcer called the name of the Beast!!

THE BEER HAULER

For the event grand finale, it was time for Fred Sibley to bring out his Beer Hauler jet truck to burn down a stack of cars.  And burn it down he did!!  Be sure to watch the video of this in the Videos section, as it must be seen to be believed!!

FINAL WORDS

What a great night of fun in Sedalia, MO thanks to the fine folks with the Mega Monster Truck Tour.  Though the course setup and freestyle obstacles left something to be desired, they did the best they could with a very small area to work with.  My wife and I had a lot of fun at only our third event of the season, and the Monster Truck addiction continued to grow!!  With a long drive back to St. Robert ahead of us, Rajeana and I departed for home, still feeling the adrenalin pumping from the awesome performances put on by the Beast, Nitemare, and the other fine Monster Trucks we had seen perform!!  That's all for this coverage folks, leave us some feedback on the Fan Forum, and have a great evening!!
