...But first, a little aside for a special event that occurred during the show.  I actually had no idea this was going to happen, but Brad, the event organizer for the Jaycees proposed to his girlfriend Kelly in spectacular fashion, with a little help from Bruce Haney and the Bad News Travels Fast truck.

A Monster Proposal, in fact.  Of course, with a proposal like that, how could she say no??  According to Kelly, they actually met at one of the Jaycees' monster truck events a few years back, so the proposal was perfect.  Congratulations you guys, can't wait to work with you again next year!!

Kind of an exciting moment for me and our little venture here!!  As thanks for my help in promoting the event, Brad gave the OK for the announcer to promo THE MONSTER BLOG.  You can see it on the Video section, actually kind of funny, but in front of 3,000+ fans, any press is good press!!  On to Freeestyle!!

BAD NEWS TRAVELS FAST

Bruce Haney was first out for the freestyle competition.  The fans, who had begun to get a little restless during a long intermission and the finals of Tuff Trux, went crazy when they heard that first big engine roar to life.  Bruce came out and made a few passes over the cars, getting some good air a few times.  Highlight of the run was probably a good wheelie going over the dirt mound setup for that purpose.  Got a nice little jump and then a lot of speed, getting the truck probably about 45 degrees.  You could tell that Bruce was being a little conservative, with a show coming up on Wednesday in Meadville, PA and again on Friday in Radford, VA.  The crowd didn't mind though and gave Bruce a standing ovation!!
