WASHINGTON JAYCEES

MONSTER TRUCK EXTRAVAGANZA

August 20th, 2005 - Washington City Park

FREESTYLE

AMERICAN PRIDE BIGFOOT

After the big win in the racing portion of the show, Shane Blair came out strong for Freestyle.  The crowd was already pumped up after that great run from Noelke, and this was a tough act for Blair to follow.  Blair came out and launched over the car sets, then turned it around and got some great air in front of big crowd!!  Blair brought the truck around to try a wheelie, but couldn't quite get it going.  Afterwards, he ran down to the open part of the track, and ripped the first wheelie of the night!!  Bringing the truck back around to the car sets in front of the fans, Air Blair got a some great launch once again!!  Then, back to the wheelie mound, for another try!!  This time he gets the truck pretty vertical, but isn't able to carry it very far.  Then, an awesome wheelie that nearly resulted in a flip for the Bigfoot truck!!  Blair made a beautiful save, keeping the truck from rolling (if you listen to the video, its kinda funny, you can hear me yell "What a save!!") and without missing a beat, brought it around for one more hit on the cars!!  Then Blair brought it back in front of the fans for a huge standing ovation!!

Great run from the America Pride Bigfoot and Shane Blair.  I hadn't heard of him before tonight, but this is defintely a driver to watch and I can't wait to see him in action again!!  Time to see who the winner is though, and the drivers come back out for the judging from the fans!!

Fans gave a big round of applause to Bruce Haney, thanking him for the good show he put on this evening!!

Very big applause for Shane Blair in the American Pride Bigfoot, but the house really came down for . . .

Doug Noelke in Big Dawg!!!  The Big Dawg was crowned the winner of the freestyle competition this evening, denying Bigfoot the clean sweep.  It was pretty close between Blair and Noelke, but in the end, it seemed to be a choice between awesome wheelies or awesome donuts, and the crowd went with the donuts!!  The fact that Noelke was from nearby Union, MO may have played a small factor as well, being the hometown hero and all, but Big Dawg prevails!!

Once again, a great show by the Washington Jaycees, and one more big thank you to the whole organization for their help in providing THE MONSTER BLOG such great access to the event!!  Can't wait until next year, hopefully some local sponsors see this and get involved so we can see another great, but larger field of trucks next year!!  Thanks to all for reading!!
