O'REILLY MONSTER TRUCK RACING

SUPER SERIES IN FT. SMITH, AR!!

OCTOBER 1st, 2005 - HARPER STADIUM @ KAY RODGERS PARK

INTRODUCTIONS

The crowd started piling into Harper Stadium and and it was time for Introductions.  The announcer started by going through all of the tough truck drivers, and saved the Monster Truck drivers for last.  The stadium had a nice setup, and it looked promising for a good show.

TIMED RUNS COMPETITION

One of the things that really impressed me about Brad Darnell's show was how well he kept the show moving along.  No sooner than introductions were finished, than Devin Jones was rolling out in the Wildfire truck!!

I had great positioning for this part of the competition as I was standing on top of an overturned steel trash can so the fence wouldn't get in the way of my shots.  I was positioned right at the finish line for the Timed Runs and Straight Line Drags, while Dad was positioned up in the announcer's stand, as the picture above is taken from.

Devin Jones cranked up the Wildfire and got a couple of good runs in, but a win was not quite in the cards for him in this part of the competition.  I didn't actually write down the times, so unfortunately, I don't have those for you.

Next up was Melissa Stathas in God, Guts, & Glory.  Melissa also laid down a couple of nice runs, but it wouldn't be quite quick enough to take the win tonight.

Following up Melissa's runs was Andy Hoffman in the Nitemare!!

The sound of this truck's engine as he roared over the cars was incredible, and Andy's time made him the new leader for the time being!!

Next up was the young man out of the Stathas stable, Nick Dejulio!!

Dejulio in the Gold Digger truck absolutely launched the truck on his first run, then set quick time in his second!!  With only one truck remaining, he was sitting pretty to claim the win in the Timed Runs Competition!!

Only one truck left to try and knock Gold Digger off the top spot, and Billy Chapen and the Iron Horse was the one who would try to do it.

Nice runs from Billy Chapen, but it would not be enough to beat Gold Digger and Nick Dejulio would be crowned champion of the Timed Runs Competition!!

As the Monsters prepared for their next event, the Straight Line Drags competition, it was time for some Tough Trucks!!

TOUGH TRUCK HIGHLIGHTS

The only photos I really got of the tough truck competition were during the first round of the event, because after that I moved up to the announcer's stand for the Chicago-Style competition.  Here are some of the pictures, as you will notice a lot of the driver's had trouble with the jump directly in front of me, lol!!
