THE FREESTYLE COMPETITION

WILDFIRE

Devin Jones would be leading off the Freestyle competition in the Wildfire truck.  After a great night thus far his first time in the truck, Devin was looking to really put on a show for the crowd in Freestyle.  Devin brought the truck out for a nice leap over the near set of cars to open his run.  He then whipped the truck back around and went for another hit on the near set going in the opposite direction.  He launched the truck up in the air, but it died in mid-air.  Mechanical problems had reared their ugly head and that would be it for Devin and the Wildfire truck.  What had been a great night up to this point for Devin would be cut short.

GOLD DIGGER

Next up was Nick Dejulio and the Gold Digger truck!!  Nick started his run by driving over the Tough Truck jumps and then brought it around to the near set of cars.  In what would be his best move of the run, he got some great air over the cars and got a nice slap wheelie on the landing!!  Dejulio brought Gold Digger to the far set of cars and rolled slowly over them.  He took a few minutes to get lined up for the car-van-car set, and finally rolled slowly over it, smashing the van down really well.  Nick then spent another few minutes getting the truck positioned to hit the van stack from the other direction, and got some decent air over it this time.  That would be his last move of the night.  Not a bad run for Nick and Gold Digger, just needs to try and keep some momentum going and will get much better scores as he develops.

GOD, GUTS, & GLORY

The last time I saw Melissa Stathas in Freestyle was in Springfield when the team was plagued with mechanical problems.  She was able to get a really awesome hit on the van stack there though, and it really caught my attention.  I was looking forward to seeing what she could do with the truck working well!!  She brought the truck out and wasted no time, heading straight for the van stack!!  She put a good crushing on the setup and then came around and put a nice hit on the near set.  She whipped the truck around and came back at the near set and lept over it with some good speed.  Melissa then brought God, Guts, & Glory around to the van stack and smashed it down some more.  Although none of the moves had been particularly spectacular so far, she was doing an excellent job of keeping the RPM's up and keeping the crowd into the run.  Her next move, although simple, was great as she hit the far set of cars sideways and went right over them.  God, Guts, & Glory then headed back over to the van stack and got some really good air over it.  She brought the truck back over to the far end of the track and got a pretty decent donut going to end the run!!  Excellent run from Melissa and definitely the best so far!!
