Before I get started with coverage of the straight-line drag racing, please take note once more that this coverage is being done from six month old memories.  I am not entirely sure that this is the exact order that the racing occurred in, but don't let that detract from the coverage!! :)

STRAIGHT-LINE DRAG RACING

Round 1

RAMINATOR VS. GOD, GUTS, & GLORY

The day would start off with Mark Hall in the powerful Raminator Dodge taking on Melissa Stathas in the God, Guts, & Glory truck.  Unfortunately, it seemed as though Stathas was still experiencing mechanical difficulties, and Hall made quick work of her, blasting down the track in an incredible display of Dodge HEMI power!!  Hall was going to be tough to beat on this day.

BIG DAWG VS. RAMMUNITION

The next match-up would pair Doug Noelke in the Big Dawg Ford up against Geremie Dishman in the Rammunition Dodge.  It appeared that Dishman may have had a false start, but there was no call from the officials and an incredibly close race ensued!!  Both trucks roared over the three car sets and drag raced down to the finish line.  A race too close for me to call, but word came over the P.A. system that Dishman was the winner!!  So far, two match-ups and the Dodge team was looking strong.

BIGFOOT VS. AVENGER

And now the truck that my wife and I were waiting for!!  Dave Harkey in Bigfoot would face off against former Monster Jam Freestyle World Champion Jim Kohler.  Right on the start, Harkey got a great lead over Kohler and didn't look back, advancing the big blue Ford into the next round!!

Round 2

RAMMUNITION VS. AVENGER

Time for the second round of Monster Truck racing to begin!!  Geremie Dishman would be going up against Jim Kohler, who apparently was brought back as the fast loser, although I'm fairly certain that Big Dawg had a quicker run.  Regardless, a second chance for the Avenger would prove fruitless as he just couldn't overcome the raw power of the Rammunition.  It was definitely one of the closer races of the afternoon as Kohler put up a good fight, but Dishman was headed to the Finals!!

RAMINATOR VS. BIGFOOT

The crowd was buzzing over the next match-up.  Raminator vs. Bigfoot, the Dodge against the Ford, the race that everyone hoped they would get to see.  Although it would have been better to see the two match up in the Finals for the big win, there was plenty of excitement over this pairing.  The crowd would not be disappointed, as both trucks got a great start and blasted over the cars!!  It appeared that Bigfoot had a slight lead over the cars, but upon touching down the Raminator lurched ahead of the Ford, just squeaking out the win, according to the officials.

It was to be an all Dodge finals with Mark Hall in the Raminator and Geremie Dishman in Rammunition dueling for the afternoon victory here in Springfield!!  Click below to continue to the next page to find out who would win!!
