CITY OF LEBANON PRESENTS

CAR SHOW & MONSTER MASH

OCTOBER 8th, 2005 - KENNETH E. COWLAN CIVIC CENTER

Welcome to another coverage from THE MONSTER BLOG!!  As part of my work here on the site, we have put together the most complete Monster Truck Event Schedule on the internet.  While making the rounds on the 'net looking for new events to add to the Schedule, I made my usual stop at the Bigfoot website.  We don't post displays / car crushes on the Schedule for the most part, but I did notice that Bigfoot would be doing one in Lebanon, MO at the beginning of October.  I was really excited upon finding this out, as Lebanon is only 30 minutes from where we live.  After traveling all the way down to Fort Smith, AR the previous weekend, it was cool to have a show to cover so close.

I had never been to a display / car crush, only to actual competition shows, but from the pictures I'd seen from other such events, I wasn't expecting too much.  Were we in for a surprise!!  As I found out more about the event, I found instead of a dealership car crush, this was for an outside promoter.  The promoter was the City of Lebanon and Gail Bryant was heading up the organization.  The show would consist of a collector's car show with Bigfoot displayed, and then the show would move across the street to a little fairgrounds for the car crush.

I was pretty excited about going, and even more excited that this was going to be my son's first Monster Truck event!!  My beautiful wife Rajeana and my little guy Zane would be joining me, since the show was so close.  It was really great to have Rajeana with me again, as she hadn't been to a show with me since Sedalia, because she was too far along in the pregnancy.  Now, at just 7 weeks old, my little Z-man would be going to his first Monster Truck show!!

THE CAR SHOW

It was a little chilly out as the sun began to go down when we arrived at the event.  We started out by walking around and looking at some of the great cars on hand for the car show.  Bigfoot was on the far end of the grounds so we decided to check out all the cars and take pictures of them first.  Here are the cars that were displayed at the show:

(If you see your car below, email me your name and where you're from, and I'll put it by your car!!)
