WRAPPING UP THE EVENT
Walked over to where the Bigfoot was parked and watched as Shane and a couple of volunteers helped tear down the truck. Tried to jump in and help out a little bit, but they had it under control. Instead I just stood back and watched and took a couple pictures.
Shane had asked me to hang around for a bit, so we could talk some more after he was done loading up, so I took a walk around the fairgrounds and took a look at some of the cars destroyed by Bigfoot and Air Blair. It wasn't a pretty sight, lol!!
I was already amazed by what a guy Shane Blair is, when I noticed that him and his wife were the only ones from Bigfoot who came down for the show. Seems like a lot of work for one guy to do, but I was glad he was able to get a couple guys who helped setup the track to help him out. I certainly hope they don't send their drivers by themselves to actual races though!! The other thing that really struck me about Blair was how he handled the fans. He was just great with the kids and all the folks who stayed around to get autographs and such. I'm telling you, this guy is going to be a big star!!
After Shane and I talked a little more it was time to hit the road. I just want to thank Shane and his family for being such great people and making us feel so welcome at the event. I can only hope that we get to see more of Shane next year here in the Missouri area.
Also a big thanks out to Gail Bryant and all the folks from the City of Lebanon and everyone else who made this show possible. They really did a fantastic job, and I heard some talk about putting together an actual Monster Truck race and freestyle show next year. I volunteered to help with it in anyway that I can and hopefully they give me a call next year so we can help make their event a smash hit!!
Well, that's it for this coverage. My wife and I had a great time at what we expected to be your average, run-of-the-mill display and car crush, but it was so much more!! It was also memorable because it was my little guy's first Monster Truck event!! Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed the coverage, leave us some feedback on THE MONSTER BLOG Fan Forum!! Thanks again!!
