CLICK HERE TO READ THE TEL AVIV, ISRAEL MOTOR EXTREME BLOG!! Team BIGFOOT Update!!: (Hazelwood, MO) Team BIGFOOT® has been VERY busy this year! We have had numerous changes recently; some good, some not so good. As you probably all know, Roy Hooser and Dave Harkey have both retired. But, on the upside, BIGFOOT #16 will be going into permanent service starting this weekend in Bolivar, MO. We’ve had a few problems with the truck, but it looks like most of them have been worked out. We have our 2nd A bruzzi Racing Transmission, so #16 now has a spare, and we just installed a new seat built specifically to fit Dan Runte, BIGFOOT #16’s designated driver. Dan flew to Randy LaJoies’ seat company, The Joie of Seating, in NC to be fitted, and he really appreciated it last weekend in Springfield, IL!!
With the absence of
Dave Harkey, long-time monster truck driver Rodney Tweedy raced BIGFOOT
#14 in a show in Springdale, AR on June 1st and 2nd. He did a great job
for his first time racing a BIGFOOT truck, even bringing home a couple
victories! Great job “Hot Rod”! Look for more of Rodney competing later
this summer. Another Update From Israel!!: Edge Motorsports and FMG Events have teamed up to bring monster trucks to the Israel this weekend!! Ryan Seddon is traveling with Edge Motorsports and is keeping us up to date on all the happenings in Tel Aviv as this historic event comes together!! Thrasher Motorsports
Update!!: (New Milford, CT) Even though, it is not
yet July, Thrasher Motorsports have been extremely busy already this
summer. The team has been busy not only thrilling fans with both the
"Thrasher" and "Extinguisher" monster trucks but everyone has also been
working hard behind the scenes. Pat and the entire Thrasher Motorsports
team have been working hard to prepare the truck for a new sponsorship
deal and the return of an "Old School" monster truck name.
So you must be
wondering what we meant by in the earlier statement of the return of an
"Old School" monster truck name. Since Pat started to run the name
"Thrasher", the "Above & Beyond" name has not been seen on the monster
truck circuit. A lot of fans always ask us when are we going to bring back
the name. So here it is, VIRGINIA GET READY!! On July 27 and 28,
2007 in Fishersville, VA, be a part of history with the return of "Above &
Beyond". Edge Motorsports In Tel Aviv This Weekend!!: Edge Motorsports and FMG Events have teamed up to bring monster trucks to the Holy Land this weekend!! The much anticipated event will be held Saturday night at Ramat Gan Stadium in Tel Aviv, Israel and will feature five monster trucks along with freestyle motocross. Ryan Seddon is traveling with Edge Motorsports and has offered to keep us up to date on all the happenings in Tel Aviv as this historic event comes together!! And We Thought It Was Muddy On Saturday!!: Bigfoot 4x4's Bob Chandler was kind enough to send over a few of his photos from Sunday's action at the Springfield, IL 4 Wheel Jamboree!! We thought it was pretty muddy on Saturday, but it looks like that was no much for the mess that awaited the trucks on Sunday when they came out to freestyle. Check out below for a photo of Dan Runte taking on the mud pit and the aftermath--we're told there is a chassis under there somewhere!! A big thanks to Bob for taking a few minutes out to send over these great photos. Enjoy!! (06/25/07)

Saturday was originally scheduled for two racing and freestyle contests at 1PM and 6PM, but both were changed to freestyle-only shows due to the heavy rain that hit the area early this afternoon. Despite the muddy conditions, the drivers still managed to put on a good show for the many fans who braved the weather to see monster trucks. The trucks will be back in action tomorrow, hopefully with better weather. We have a full photo gallery and highlight video from Saturday's events coming your way, so stay tuned!! Thanks to Special Events for their hospitality today, and to all the teams and drivers for the great show!! (06/23/07)

Sudden Impact Racing Tire Update!!: The new Sudden Impact Racing Tire was put through its paces this weekend in Clearlake, CA at the AMP Tour event at Lakeport Speedway. SIR drivers Carl Van Horn and Fletcher Lewis ran T-Maxx and Sudden Impact hard, giving the tires a workout and couldn't have been more pleased with the results. The new tires held up great on a mixture of surfaces including asphalt, grass, dirt, and even the mud bog. The tire has also been tested by LiveNation Motorsports for two straight weekends on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle truck driven by Frank Krmel. LiveNation followed up this testing by ordering an entire container of the new tires. Team Beast's Bobby Holman has also tested the tire to rave reviews.
What are some of the
benefits of the SIR tire? The tires weigh no more than 450 lbs. a
piece compared to the average monster truck tire, which comes in at around
700-800 lbs. The tires are race ready straight from the manufacturer, as
the mold features a tread designed specifically for monster truck use,
reducing time spent shaving down and cutting treads as must be done with
other manufacturer's tires. The SIR tire also features a thicker sidewall,
reducing the amount of wobble that is often experienced after a hard hit
or landing. As if all that wasn't enough, the tire is even cheaper than
others currently produced, when bought new. Clearlake, CA AMP Tour Photos!!: The AMP Tour Monster Truck Thunder Slam took over Lakeport Speedway in Clearlake, CA this past weekend and Sudden Impact Racing's Brandon Lagarde was kind enough to send over some photos from the event, taken by Kolene Potter. Thanks to Kolene for allowing us to post these great shots, and to Brandon for fowarding them along. Traxxas T-Maxx To Appear on PINKS - UPDATE!!: A few months back, the crew from the hit SPEED Channel show PINKS came to Houston Raceway in Baytown, TX to film an episode of the program. The Traxxas T-Maxx monster truck was on hand for the event and will be seen in the episode filmed at Houston Raceway. This episode will air Wednesday, June 13th at 8PM EST so don't miss it!! Thanks to Sudden Impact Racing for the heads up on this exciting news!! UPDATE: As anyone who tuned into SPEED Channel last night now knows, the T-Maxx truck did not appear on the PINKS show televised from Houston Raceway Park. The Sudden Impact Racing team was just as suprised by this omission as all who tuned in. The team's agreement with Houston Raceway Park was that the truck would display at the PINKS event and make a pass down the strip, which was to be included on the television program. Sudden Impact Racing had no control over what footage SPEED decided to use. Questions or comments regarding the omission of T-Maxx from the PINKS episode can be directed to SPEED Channel or Houston Raceway Park. (06/09/07)
