ROLLING THUNDER M.T. CHALLENGE

JANUARY 7TH, 2005 - GLENDALE ARENA

FREESTYLE COMPETITION (continued)

The Final Round

BEARFOOT

Now that it was time for the Freestyle Finals, the track crew brought out a van for the two trucks to attack.  Don King started his Finals run off with a very nice hit on the near set of cars, and then proceeded to make two wild hits on the van stack that sent Bearfoot up and over the van with the nose of the truck pointed toward the heavens!!  While the run was very good, it was surprisingly short for this being the big Finals, and definitely left the door wide open for Bigfoot to take the win.

SUMMIT BIGFOOT

Dan Runte rolled out in Summit Bigfoot and began his quest for the Freestyle win in Glendale.  Runte hit both carsets, the van, and everything in his way, over and over, getting some great air, and some nice sky wheelies.  Toward the end of the run, Runte did what no one else had done all night and maneuvered Bigfoot over to the far end of the arena, and lined up the FMX hill.  Runte then put the petal to the metal, flying up and over the FMX hill, getting some crazy air!!  Upon landing, Runte was even able to work it into a small slap wheelie before sliding to a stop in the center of the floor!!  After that move, there was no doubt who the winner of Freestyle would be tonight!!

Both drivers were brought out to the center of the floor for the crowd cheer-off, and while both drivers received a great response from the fans, it was all Dan Runte in Bigfoot!!

A great night for the Bigfoot driver, taking both the Racing & Freestyle wins in Glendale!!

THE FINAL WORDS

My parents had a great time at the show, and Dad got some amazing pictures with his new Nikon D50!!  He did an excellent job, and I can't thank both of them enough for going down to Glendale and covering this for us.  Dad wanted to be sure to thank all of the great folks at Torgerson Motorsports who put this show together, and to all of the drivers and crews who put on such an entertaining show!  Dad said it was great to see Larry Quick & Rex Smith again, and very nice to meet with Don King and the Sturges family.

This brings to an end another Monster Blog Coverage, hope you all enjoyed it, and please be sure to leave Dad some feedback on the Fan Forum!!  Thanks for reading!!
