J&K and BIGFOOT®
Crush Out Breast
Cancer!!:
(Red Bluff, CA) J&K Motorsports, Inc., Big Foot 4 x 4 Inc, St.
Elizabeth Community Hospital and Mercy Foundation North would like to
announce a truly ground breaking fund raising effort. CRUSH OUT BREAST
CANCER.
After being involved in the Wrangler Tough Enough To
Wear Pink Program for Professional Rodeo and the wonderful results it
produced to raise money in the fight against breast
cancer,
J&K Motorsports, Inc. president, Joe Froome thought it was time that the
Monster Truck Industry did their part “I knew our popularity along with a
strong following of families, we had an opportunity to do our part in the
fight against breast cancer yet we also needed our own identity.”
Borrowing from the Tough Enough to Wear Pink, local gal Terry Wheatley’s
concept, and recognizing the potential for national fund raising exposure,
Joe and Kellie there team began researching and developing what is now
coined the “Crush Out Breast Cancer” Monster Truck initiative.
Deborah Hearnshaw Marketing Director of St Elizabeth
Community Hospital and Mercy Foundation North, Tehama County Development
Officer, Kristin M. Behrens were consulted as this Red Bluff Community
Hospital sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy and Catholic Healthcare West
were to be the recipients of the funds raised. “We were excited to be
approached by such an enthusiastic organization – and by an event that
draws a larger fan base year after year,” explained Deborah. Kristin
Behrens of Mercy Foundation North, the philanthropic arm of St. Elizabeth
explains, “ We were honored to be a part of the Red Bluff Round Up last
spring and the Tough Enough To Wear Pink Program. That this event created
a natural opportunity to partner in this event ultimately to Crush Out
Breast Cancer in Tehama County by allowing us to further inform the public
about breast cancer and to provide an opportunity for community members to
donate to the cause.”
The proceeds from the event will benefit the St.
Elizabeth Imaging Center enhancing the suite of mammography services to
include MRI diagnostics in the fight against breast cancer. Todd Smith,
Senior Director of Ancillary Services explains, “We strive to build and
provide premier health care services to the county. The Imaging Center is
one area of healthcare that can assist in the effort to proactively treat
illness and invasive diseases such as breast cancer. The addition of MRI
technology to our cancer detection services will further advance our
ability to proactively detect and treat our patients locally and with
state of the art technology.”
Sister Pat Manoli, senior Director of Mission
Integration and Volunteer Services for St. Elizabeth strongly supports the
effort. “The Sisters are always in support of safe family oriented events
that bring people together and what better opportunity to share valuable
information about cancer and to show support for our cancer fighting
efforts.”
In an effort to show support J&K Motorsports has
facilitated a coordinated effort with many of the event vendors and
competitors. “We got creative and worked with our flag vendor to create a
pink and white flag instead of the traditional black and white Autograph
checker flags.” A Portion of the Proceeds from ticket sales for the Sunday
October 1st Show and from the pink and white checkered flag sales will go
to the Crush Out Breast Cancer fund benefiting St. Elizabeth Community
Hospital Imaging Center. We really are going to do our best to pack the
house on Sunday so we really can raise a lot of money for this cause said
Joe Froome. Staff and participants will show their support on Sunday by
wearing pink and displaying the Crush Out Breast Cancer Logo, and St. E’s
will be there to hand out the pink cancer awareness jelly bracelets. “We
encourage the public to show their support by wearing pink to the Sunday
performance.”
The pink doesn’t stop there! “We have even
enlisted the leader in the Monster Truck Industry, the Founder of it all,
BIGFOOT®, in the Crush Out Breast Cancer Initiative. BIGFOOT has agreed to
wrap their BIGFOOT Truck in pink for the event!” Bob Trent, VP of
Sponsorships & Events for BIGFOOT explains, “We are all so excited to be
participating in the Crush Out Breast Cancer program! The first-ever PINK
BIGFOOT truck will be ½ of Team Big Foot and our part-time woman driver,
former WCW and WWF wrestling champion Madusa will be debuting her new
truck there as well. Long time BIGFOOT Driver Dave Harkey and Madusa will
both be making appearances with there trucks in Red Bluff the week before
the event and will race all weekend. We have also added companies to the
list of donors, including Vinyl Images, who is donating the wrap for the
truck, and Leaf Race Wear, who is donating the 3 pink BIGFOOT crew
uniforms that will be auctioned off after the event! We are proud to be
working with J & K Motorsports, St. Elizabeth Community Hospital and Mercy
Foundation North, and the rest of the Crush Out Breast Cancer team!”
If you would like more information on this effort or
would like to donate to the cause please contact
J & K Motorsports at 530-527-5732 or

Top Honors Once Again
Go To Nigel Morris And BIGFOOT #17!!: (Hop Farm, Kent)
Piloting BIGFOOT #17 to a win in the finals on Sunday the 22nd of August
at the Hop Farm in Kent has earned driver Nigel Morris and the entire
BIGFOOT #17 team their second EMTRC (European Monster Truck Racing
Championship) title.
A jubilant Nigel said, "I am just so pleased! The team
works real hard, and we have been so close for the last two years, it
feels very good to be the first team in Europe to ever win this title
twice."
Driving to Kent, Nigel knew he had a chance of wrapping
up the title, but this is monster truck racing and anything can, and
usually does, go wrong. The team did not have the best of weeks prior to
the Hop Farm event, as they spent five days waiting for parts to rebuild
the engine on sister truck Monstrous. When the parts arrived on Friday
morning the team set to building the engine, finally arriving on site at
3:10 am on Saturday morning.
As one of the best European Monster Truck Racing teams,
LA Supertrux Ltd. is also one of the busiest. Competing in all rounds of
the EMTRC as well as appearing at numerous Truck fest events and at dealer
and sponsor events, keeps the team working day and night.
"I love racing best, but any chance I get to meet the
BIGFOOT fans is great for me," said Nigel, "and winning a championship for
the second time is just amazing! The whole team has worked extremely hard,
paying particular attention to making the truck more reliable. Last year
we were fast, but not reliable. This year we have been quick and scored
points at every race."
"This was a great weekend finishing a great year for LA
Supertrux Ltd and Team BIGFOOT Racing as we proved that we are once again
the team to beat in European Monster Truck Racing". (08/28/06)

Sanderson Ford AMP
Tour Recap & Teasers!!:
The inaugural Sanderson Ford AMP Tour at the brand new Arizona Cardinals
Stadium took place last night in Glendale, AZ. With a great lineup of
monster trucks on hand and an exciting new company ready to debut in a
beautiful new stadium, the stage was set for an event to be remembered.
Unfortunately, things would not go that easily when
show time rolled around. With the show scheduled to start at 8PM, there
wasn't much room for delays--and there would be three key delays that
would hamper the show. The first occurred right off the bat, with
introductions not even beginning until nearly 9PM. Once racing began,
things were going well until a hard crash by Tim Martin in el Bandito.
When coming over the last set of cars, attempting to grab a
come-from-behind victory, the truck launched at an angle and hit the large
FMX hill in the middle of the floor causing the truck to crash hard.
Thankfully Tim was ok, but the wreck took some time to cleanup. But it was
the next incident that caused the longest delay. While racing Nasty Boy,
Bearfoot got into trouble heading for the hairpin turn at the end of the
track and smashed right into the corner wall of the brand new Cardinals
Stadium. Thankfully no one was injured, but there was a lengthy delay that
caused the rest of the show to be run in hurry-up mode.
The second round of racing was completed, but instead
of running the semi-final and final rounds, racing was called off, ending
in a four-way tie between Bigfoot, Sudden Impact, Nasty Boy, and Torqzilla.
The track was setup for freestyle, but again, bad luck reared its ugly
head. Second out for freestyle, Bobby Holman and his Beast, first got
stuck on a fresh van stack after a couple hits, and more time was eaten up
as the truck was pulled off. Holman then fired back up and was on his way
to a very nice run when he hit the double van stack at a bad angle,
causing the truck to roll over. The clock continued to tick as the truck
was righted and removed from the track.
Rod Wood in McGruff fired up the crowd with an
excellent run, as did John Zimmer in Sudden Impact. The best runs of
the night came from Alex Blackwell in Traxxas T-Maxx and Dan Runte in
Summit Bigfoot, as both did an awesome job. Don King was last out in the
brand new Digger's Destruction truck, but would loose rear wheel drive
after only a couple hits, ending his run and the show just shy of the
clock striking midnight. Only seven trucks were given the chance to
freestyle due to the time constraints. The crowd vote for the freestyle winners went to
T-Maxx, Sudden Impact, and Bigfoot.
All in all, there were some great efforts put forth by
all the drivers and teams, and we would like to thank them all for their
hard work. The folks from AMP Live Events were very nice people, and we
thank them for their hospitality at the show. They had a rough evening,
but they worked through it, and learned a lot for their next show. We wish
them the best and look forward to attending their events in the future!!
We will have lots more pictures and video from the show
coming this week, so stay tuned to The Monster Blog as we bring you much
more from this show!! (08/27/06)

Countdown To Bloomsburg - UPDATE 2!!:
With the big Bloomsburg 4 Wheel Jamboree coming up this weekend, Monster
Blog Special Contributor Andrew Palochko wanted to share some of the
history he has seen at the Bloomsburg Jamboree over the years. This will
be Andrew's 15th year at Bloomsburg, and the 19th year of the Jamboree.
With the unfortunate rescheduling of the event due to the Pennsylvania
flooding back in July, we thought it would be great idea to help stir up
some excitement about this weekend's event!! Click the logo below
for TheMonsterBlog.com's Countdown to Bloomsburg featuring reflections and
photos from Andrew Palochko!! (08/15/06) UPDATE:
Part Two of Andrews Palochko's look back at Bloomsburg history has been
posted!! And as of tonight, the countdown has ended as the weekend
in Bloomsburg is underway!! Friday night Mark Hall in Raminator
defeated teammate Geremie Dishman in Rammunition to take the evening's
Racing win!! (08/18/06) UPDATE 2: Hall Brothers
Racing continued their domination Saturday and Sunday in Bloomsburg.
During the Saturday afternoon racing show, Geremie Dishman in Rammunition
defeated Mark Hall, only to have Hall turn around and beat Dishman in the
evening show--even after Raminator rolled over hard in the afternoon
freestyle show!! The story was much the same on Sunday, as Hall took his
third win of the weekend over Dishman. Thanks to our great special
contributors Marty Menze and Charlie Wagner we will have videos from the
entire weekend's action, so stay tuned!! (08/20/06)

Washington Jaycees Monster
& Tuff Truck Extravaganza!!:
The annual Washington Jaycees Monster & Tuff Truck Extravaganza was
tonight in Washington, MO, featuring Bad News Travels Fast, Big Dawg, and
Summit Bigfoot competing in wheelie, racing, & freestyle competitions!!
Dan Runte in Bigfoot laid down a great slap wheelie in the wheelie
contest, but it was Doug Noelke in Big Dawg taking the crowd vote for the
win with two great sky wheelies. Runte would come back to be the fast
qualifier, and would face off against Noelke in the finals after Big Dawg
defeated Bad News in the first round. Runte in Bigfoot laid down a perfect
pass in the racing finals to defeat Noelke for the win!! Freestyle
would see Bruce Haney entertain the crowd with some great donuts in Bad
News, but it was Noelke and Runte stealing the show once again--only this
time they did it together!! In an unexpected twist, both trucks came
roaring out to freestyle together, chasing each other around the track,
grabbing big air and great slap wheelies. When it came down to the
crowd vote, it was Noelke and Big Dawg taking a well-deserved win!!
A huge thanks to Brad Maune and the whole Washington Jaycees organization
for their hospitality. We had a great time tonight and are already looking
forward to next year's show!! Be watching the site for video and
more pictures from the show coming soon!! (08/19/06)

“BIGFOOT”® SPOTTED ON
DISCOVERY KIDS - “THE ORIGINAL MONSTER TRUCK”® ENCOURAGES KIDS TO PLAY
HARD AND GET MESSY IN A NEW CARTOON!!:
(St. Louis, MO)
Good Clean Fun? Well, 2 Out of 3 Ain’t Bad
-- Having dominated the monster truck circuit for years, a semi-retired
Bigfoot has returned to his hometown of Crushington Park with his
automotive family. Things sure have changed since he was a little
speedster! His kids’ friends have more bells and whistles than Bigfoot
ever had growing up, and his son’s best friend is Meteor, a young
moon-buggy chock full of advanced, space-age gadgets.
BIGFOOT PRESENTS: METEOR AND THE MIGHTY
MONSTER TRUCKS premieres September 25, 2006 at 10:30 AM ET/PT and
runs every weekday during the “Ready, Set, Learn!” preschool block on the
Discovery Kids! Channel. The show also rolls onto TLC starting October 2,
2006 at 8 AM ET/PT.
Every episode of BIGFOOT PRESENTS: METEOR
AND THE MIGHTY MONSTER TRUCKS embraces rough and tumble
physicality, sportsmanship and resilience. Through racing, the little
monster trucks of Crushington Park learn valuable life lessons. In every
race there are winners and losers, and ALL trucks, even the biggest ones,
make mistakes on and off the racetrack. But dealing with wins and losses
graciously and overcoming huge obstacles is what made Bigfoot famous, so
with self-confidence, dedication and a little elbow…er...engine grease,
he’ll help the young trucks accomplish amazing things. And he’ll make sure
they all have fun too!

U.S. Smash Nationals Recap
& Teasers!!:
The monster trucks invaded Bolivar Speedway USA Saturday night for the
U.S. Smash Nationals Presented by 84 Lumber!! Bigfoot, Nitemare,
Monster Patrol, Full Throttle, Terminator, & Barbarian were all on hand to
do battle in racing and freestyle competitions. Doug Noelke would be
running the famous blue Bigfoot body on his Big Dawg chassis for the
evening's events, and quickly served notice that he would be the man to
beat, taking a narrow victory over Kirk Dabney in Monster Patrol in
straight line drag racing. However it would be Devin Jones, sporting
the new Barbarian body, upsetting Noelke in the semi-finals of
Chicago-style racing, and then going on to defeat Rob French in Full
Throttle in the finals. Freestyle would see all five trucks put on a
great show, but it was Doug Noelke taking the win for Bigfoot when it was
all said and done. Check out the Fan Forum for some more pictures,
and be watching for more coverage from this show, including a highlight
video coming later this week!! Thanks to all the folks who put on
the show, it was a lot of fun and we are already looking forward to coming
back next year!! (08/13/06)

Essex Junction 4 Wheel
Jamboree!!:
This weekend the Special Events Performance Series roared into the
Champlain Valley Expo for another round of the Dodge Monster Truck Thunder
Drags, part of the weekend's 4 Wheel Jamboree Nationals!! Mark Hall
in Raminator dominated the Saturday racing, taking the early win over
Chris Bergeron in Metallic Mayhem, and then defeating teammate Geremie
Dishman in Rammunition for the late afternoon victory. Sunday, Geremie
Dishman in Rammunition took the win over points leader Allen Pezo in
Predator to complete the weekend sweep for Hall Brothers Racing.
Pezo's points lead has been cut substantially, and he now has the HBR
Dodges on his tail as the series heads to Bloomsburg, PA, and then on to

Toyo Tires 4-Wheel Jamboree still rolling into Bloomsburg on
Rescheduled Dates of August
18th-20th!!: Many 4x4 Enthusiasts Saying…Bloomsburg or Bust!!
(Indianapolis,
IN) -
The Toyo Tires 4-Wheel Jamboree is rolling along towards its
rescheduled dates at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds Friday, August 18 to
Sunday, August 20. The pace has been frenetic as the show organizers have
been working with participants and sponsors from across the country to
ensure that the 19th annual event at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds does not
suffer from the forced postponement of the show’s dates in early July.
Show organizers have derived a theme from some of the
comments they
have received back from 4x4 enthusiasts
who are coming to the new show dates, “…as far as we’re concerned, IT’S
BLOOMSBURG OR BUST!” Many participants have taken special vacation
days to attend the new show and have commented that not even gas prices,
which continue to rise, will stop them from coming to the show. A special
“Bloomsburg or Bust!” window decal has been designed for sponsors and
truck owners to use as they travel across the country to Bloomsburg
to view the decal!!).
Show organizers are hopeful that the dedication and
commitment from the 4x4 enthusiasts across the country will inspire
citizens of northeast Pennsylvania to evaluate their end-of-summer plans,
attend the rescheduled show and embrace the show’s rallying cry of
“Bloomsburg or Bust!”
As of Friday August 4th, show organizers at the Special
Events Performance Series have heard back from 68% of the truck owners
that had pre-registered for the July Jamboree. Of that number:
- 70% have said they were coming to the rescheduled
event;
- 20% have asked for a refund;
- 10% have transferred their registration to another
4x4 Jamboree
According to Victor Ruthig, Vice President of Marketing
with the series, “we are encouraged by the fact that 70% of our 4x4 truck
owners plan to make the rescheduled dates. What we don’t know is what the
other one-third will decide to do.” In terms of the on-site registration
at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds for the show, Ruthig commented, “Our walk-up
registration has accounted for 50% of our total number of trucks for the
weekend in recent years. This year we are unsure as to how our walk-up
registration will turnout. We have never dealt with this situation in the
25 year history of Jamborees so we can’t really comment on the total
long-term show and economic impact of our current course.”
“We are hoping that the tradition of our great Jamboree
will encourage 4x4 enthusiasts to travel in for the weekend!.” The
Toyo Tires 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals will include top Pro-Monster Truck
racing including the famed Grave Digger®, Raminator, Ramunition,
Predator, Prowler, Black Stallion and the Broker. Also included in the
weekend’s competition schedule will be Mickey Thompson Tires Tough Trucks
and Burnout competitions and the NMRO Mud Racing series. The Family Fun
Zone and Monster Truck rides will be open all weekend.
Advance tickets available locally through Fresh ‘N
Quick Stores, Ticketmaster locations and at ticketmaster.com (Adult $15 /
Child (3-12) $5). Tickets also available at the gate. For more
information, visit

Bigfoot Car Crush at
Stevens Ford!!:
Monster Blog Special Contributor Marty Menze was in Patchogue, NY for a
Bigfoot car crush this weekend!! I'll let him tell the story:
a
Keith Sturgeon and Bigfoot #10 made a special
appearance at Stevens Ford in Patchogue, NY August 4th and 5th, displaying
on Friday, with car crushes at 12 and 3 on Saturday. For the event I
sported the new Monster Blog T-shirt which was big hit with people who
were showing up for the event. Keith is one of the nicest guys I
have ever met and he was very happy to see someone who contributes to the
site there--he said the Monster Blog is one of the best sites out there.
Keith made me feel very welcomed and I got to hang out with him the whole
day, both days, even helping with little things like getting photos and
the steering wheel for him. It was a dream come true.
The guys at Stevens Ford were also very nice people to
meet and showed great hospitality as well. Two guys who stuck out
from the crowd were Chris and Tommy M. from Stevens Ford because they were
both extremely nice and great to meet. All Friday Keith was having
fun with Tommy M. who he has nicknamed "Little Buddy"--while they were
having fun, we also checked out the Monster Blog and Bigfoot's site,
watching many of the videos, especially the ones of his crushes earlier in
the year.
Both crushes were packed with people of all ages and
after each one, (if they weren't already) they all instantly became
Bigfoot Fans. The second crush was a little different as they added a
little van into the row of cars and people loved it. Everybody can't
wait for Keith to return at the beginning of next month for the KSR show
at Riverhead driving Snake Bite, along with teammate Rick Long in Bigfoot.
A big thanks to Keith Sturgeon of Bigfoot for making
those two days some of the greatest days I have ever had. It was a dream
come true. Also thanks to all the great employees of Stevens Ford for the
great hospitality.

Traxxas T-Maxx Press
Release!!:
(Escanaba, MI) – The Traxxas T-Maxx team traveled to the Upper
Peninsula of Michigan to do battle at the Checkered Flag Productions
Monster Truck Summer Nationals at the U.P. State Fairgrounds. Guest
driver, Alex Blackwell, prepared T-Maxx for all-out monster truck madness
against Sudden Impact, Bear Foot, Martial Law, Reaper and Black Jack.
Friday night the action started with T-Maxx setting an
incredibly fast qualifying time in both racing lanes, pushing the monster
truck to its mechanical limit. When all was said and done, T-Maxx marched
though the racing brackets into the final round of racing where T-Maxx
faced a hard charging Sudden Impact. The flag dropped, and they were off!
In a photo finish, the crowd favorite, T-Maxx, was declared the winner.
Next, it was time for some all out monster truck
freestyle! Everyone put on an impressive show, and Larry Quick rolled the
Reaper truck, sending fans into a frenzy. Last out, T-Maxx had an awesome
run with huge air, major wheelies, and massive donuts! The crowd went wild
for T-Maxx, but it wasn’t enough to overpower the cheers for the Reaper.
On Saturday T-Maxx continued its winning ways and began
another march to the finals. T-Maxx and the track were both dialed-in, and
T-Maxx posted blistering fast passes on the tacky dirt track. Once again,
the fans watched the Traxxas T-Maxx head to the final round, this time
matched-up against Don King in Bear Foot. The 3-Time World Champion, Bear
Foot, proved no match for the power and speed of T-Maxx. T-Maxx took the
racing win for the 2nd night in a row!
During the final round of freestyle of the weekend,
Reaper and Sudden Impact set the bar high. In anticipation of an
impressive performance, the Traxxas T-Maxx was scheduled to run last.
Blackwell unleashed the wrath of the ferocious T-Maxx motor in an all out
FULL POWER monster truck freestyle filled with monster air, donuts, slap
wheelies, huge air over the bus stack, and an mind-blowing sideways hit on
the bus. The fans went absolutely ballistic for the Traxxas T-Maxx. When
T-Maxx slid to a stop, the capacity crowd was on their feet chanting,
“T-MAXX! T-MAXX! T-MAXX!”
You can catch the Traxxas T-Maxx in action at the
Mobile, Alabama Monster Jam® on August 4th and 5th where T-Maxx will
battle it out with the world famous Grave Digger. For more information on
T-Maxx and a list of upcoming events, visit

Patrick Doubles Up in Rapid
City!!:
(Rapid City, SD) – Dan Patrick in his #50 Samson monster truck
proved once again he is one of the toughest competitors to beat in the
industry. Only one
other
driver has been able to sweep back to
back rounds of competition in the MOD Series and that was accomplished
earlier this year by Dan Runte. With Patrick’s wins in Round 12, he now
leads both Straight Line Drag and Obstacle Course Racing standings for the
2006 MOD Series.
“I’ve said it before, we are either really good or
really bad”, said Dan Patrick. “This weekend we were on the good side.
This series is the most demanding series we compete in and it feels good
to walk away with all four trophies this weekend. Now I get to go back to
the shop and build more parts for more customers.”
Rick Swanson in the #95 Fabtech Obsession slipped out
of first place in Obstacle Course Racing to Patrick, but a second place
finish would keep him hot on his tail.
“This weekend Dan (Patrick) was on”, said Swanson.
“When he is on I don’t think there are too many people that can beat him.
We ran this weekend with our back-up engine and still finished in second
all weekend. I couldn’t ask for much more out of this truck.”
Kreg Christensen in his #01 Dragon Slayer would lay
down the quickest time in qualifying, but would drop a valve starting his
truck to come out for Straight Line Drags.
“It’s horrible to be the fastest qualifier and not be
able to make a single pass in racing”, said Kreg Christensen. “This is
really going to hurt us in points. This was a new motor for this event and
it is just unfortunate that this had to happen.”
Round 11 is scheduled to air on The Outdoor Channel
August 12th and Round 12 will air August 19th. Both will air at 11AM PST.
You can now also order any round of racing as the MOD Series is available
“On Demand”.
Next stop on the 2006 MOD Series is Evergreen Speedway.
This event is the largest event in the season with 10 trucks competing.
Trucks scheduled to race are Obsession, Dragon Slayer, Spider-Man, Bounty
Hunter, Iron Outlaw, Monster Jerky, Natural High, Captain USA, Monster
Moose and Public Disturbance. The event is held at the Evergreen Speedway
August 24th and 25th in Monroe, Washington.
NOTE: The current Monsters of
Destruction points have been updated in The Monster Blog's Points Tracker
in the lower left hand column here on the main page. Thanks to
