Firebird Highlight Video Posted!!: The Monster Blog's highlight video from last weekend's monster truck show at the Tire Pros Truck & 4x4 Nationals in Chandler, AZ has been posted!! Firebird Int'l Raceway is known for putting on some of the best monster truck shows in the country, and this year's fall show was no exception. Featuring 7 great monster trucks including Summit Bigfoot, Bounty Hunter, Iron Outlaw, Maniac, Jurassic Attack, Nasty Boy, and Unnamed & Untamed competing in four freestyle-only shows, we have packed right at 11 minutes of action into our video!! MOD 2006 Ends In Roswell,
NM This Weekend!!:
(Roswell, NM) With 23 Rounds of competition in the
books, the 2006 Monsters of Destruction National Monster Truck Series will
perform its final two rounds in Roswell, New Mexico at the Eastern New
Mexico State Fairgrounds. Seven trucks are scheduled to battle it out
including Dan Runte in Bigfoot, Rick Swanson in Obsession, the 2005 MOD
Series Champion Kreg Christensen in Dragon Slayer, Kelvin Ramer in Natural
High, David Smith in King Krunch, Daron Basl in El Matador and Matt Powers
in Shattered.
“This year I set out to win the series for my father
who past away earlier this year and that is what we did,” said Rick
Swanson. “It is very special to me and my family to bring this
championship home. It was a long and hard series, but we made it out on
top.”
Tuba City Fair Videos Posted!!: The Frankish Enterprises team of Maniac and Jurassic Attack came to my parents Lauren & Lynette Bonar's hometown a couple weeks ago to perform as part of the annual Tuba City Fair Mud Bog. As it turned out, the mud bog promoter would forget to bring out cars for the monster trucks to crush, so Don and Nathan had to improvise and they still put on a good show for the fans. Monsters Trucks Return to Firebird!!: The monster trucks were back at Firebird International Raceway for the annual fall show as part of the Tire Pros Truck & 4x4 Nationals this weekend and my parents Lauren & Lynette Bonar were on hand to cover all the action!! Seven trucks would compete in the weekend's four freestyle shows including Bounty Hunter, Summit Bigfoot, Iron Outlaw, Maniac, Jurassic Attack, Nasty Boy, and Unnamed & Untamed!! Despite great performances by all trucks at the show, it was Dan Runte in Summit Bigfoot who was awarded the overall victory when all four shows were done. Jimmy Creten, Linsey Weenk, and Sam Sturges were also awarded trophies, and Don Frankish in Maniac was one of the strongest runners all weekend. Ronnie Sturges in Nasty Boy experienced a small rollover during Intros on Sunday as well. We will have TONS of content from the weekend's shows including lots of video and a full coverage with many pictures, so stay tuned!! (10/23/06)
Dawn Creten Will Return In Anaheim!!: Fan favorite driver Dawn Creten will make her long awaited return to the driver's seat of Scarlet Bandit the second week of January in Anaheim, CA. After a long break from competition, TheMonsterBlog.com has learned from Dawn herself that she will be back behind the wheel for the Anaheim, CA Monster Jam on January 13th, 2007. Big Gun Flips In Bloomsdale!!: The brand new Big Gun monster truck made its debut at the Pit Bull Tires Mud Bash in Bloomsdale, MO today and the result was certainly not what owner / driver Matt Heady was hoping for. Upon landing after the truck's very first jump over a single-car set, both front wheels broke free causing the front end to bury into the ground, nosing the truck up and over onto its roof. Thankfully Matt was ok and is now determined to find the problem and get it corrected for Big Gun's next appearance. We look forward to seeing Matt and the Big Gun back in action, as we remain excited to see what this truck is capable of!! (10/21/06)
Mud Racer Injured in Texas: Kipp Findley, driver of the Fatal Attraction mud dragster, was critically injured at the Lufkin, TX Mud Racing event recently. Findley is currently in serious condition at the Texas Orthopedic Hospital in Houston and is being treated for over twenty fractures to his legs and feet. The incident occurred when the throttle hung, causing the vehicle to crash while traveling at nearly 150mph. Please keep Kipp and his family in your thoughts and prayers--we here at TheMonsterBlog.com certainly will be. Dodge Raminator at i-Hobby
in Chicago!!:
(Champaign, IL) The Dodge Raminator monster truck, winner of
eight monster truck championships, will be appearing October 19th through
the 22nd at the i-Hobby trade show in Chicago, IL. Driver Mark Hall, along
with championship driver Geremie Dishman (Rammunition), will be on hand
with the truck, signing autographs and talking to fans in support of the
launch of a new line of Raminator and Rammunition model kits.
Mud Bogs & Monster Trucks!!: This weekend is the annual Tuba City Fair in Tuba City, AZ and the fair will rumble with the sound of monster trucks Friday, Saturday, & Sunday!! Jurassic Attack & Maniac will perform in freestyle exhibition, in addition to the mud bogs competition, at 3PM Friday, 2PM Saturday, and 9AM Sunday. Over 8,000 people packed the grandstands to witness a monster truck showdown on the over/under figure 8 racing track. Jon Zimmer piloted T-Maxx against some of the nation’s top monster trucks including Avenger, Brutus, Excaliber, Sudden Impact, Eradicator, Aftershock, and Backdraft!

After being online for just over a year, we decided it was time for
TheMonsterBlog.com to get a small facelift--and we are very happy with the
results!! There have been no major changes, simply an update to the
existing site. Most everything is still in the same place, but we wanted

Natural High's 50th
Event!!:
(Natural High PR) The annual WGAS show at the Southern
California Fair in Perris Valley was the site of Natural High's 50th event
and third rollover. It was a great show, with eleven of the world's best
monster trucks performing freestyle on Saturday afternoon, racing on
Sunday afternoon, and freestyle again on Sunday evening to cheering crowds
packing into full stands.
(Photo by Rosalee Ramer) Monster Mash at Route 66!!: Monster Mash III took place this weekend at the Route 66 Speedway in Joliet, IL. The show featured seven monster trucks including, Avenger, Backdraft, Brutus, Eradicator, Excaliber, Sudden Impact, & Traxxas T-Maxx competing in racing & freestyle competitions. As is the norm at the Route 66 Monster Mash, the track crew designed a wild racing course--an over/under Figure 8 course!! The racing finals came down to Excaliber and T-Maxx, and it was Sean Duhon in Excaliber taking the big racing victory!! Freestyle was next and Jim Kohler in Avenger went wild, getting big air and wild donuts to take the freestyle win--all this after rolling over during the racing part of the show!! Productions office received from one of the biggest names ever in Monster
Trucks. “On Wednesday afternoon we were in a staff meeting talking about
our trip we had made to visit the Beasley Coliseum when Bob Trent the
manager from Team Bigfoot 4x4 called. He “wanted to know why they were not
invited to race at that event in Pullman?” We put him on the speaker phone
and our entire staff said “Let's Get It On!’

Racing Team! “We are extremely excited to be joined by such a great
company,” stated, Brandon Lagarde, the CEO of Sudden Impact Racing. UWS
along with the sponsorship has also committed to building state of the art
style, racing trailer cabinets / tool boxes / storage boxes for the two
semi trailer set up’s Sudden Impact Racing will be using for 2007 season.
UWS presently is in the working process of marketing these boxes and more
for affordable retail sales exclusively thru Tangi Industrial Sales of
