Joe Sylvestor Motosports Gears Up For 2007!!: Joe Sylvestor is the latest driver to send The Monster Blog some information on their plans for 2007, and all we can say is, keep 'em coming everybody!! Joe and the Bad Habit team have got some exciting things in the works, let's take a look at what all they have in store for the coming season!! The New Hauler: Joe Sylvester Motorsports has acquired a new Freightliner motor home and stacker trailer from Powerhouse Conversions! The motor home is 22 ft long and is furnished inside with oak fixtures, a full size bathroom, a bedroom, a kitchen, and a dining area with a pull out coach. The stacker trailer is 35 ft long with a ramp door operated by a winch system to allow the crew to roll things in and out of the trailer easily. Joe would like to thank Steve from Powerhouse Conversions for the quick turn around time and awesome job on the new hauler!
The Race Truck: The monster is back in the shop and is literally torn to pieces to prepare for the '07 season. The 572 cubic inch Chevrolet motor is being rebuilt by Scott Koffel of Koffel's Place in Huron ,Oh. Koffel's Place is a prominent engine shop trusted throughout the tri-state area in motor sports and will be a support sponsor of Joe Sylvester Motorsports in 2007. The turbo 400 race transmission and spare have both been refreshed by Abruzzi racing transmissions out of Niles, OH who will also be a support sponsor in 2007. New axle housings are being custom fabricated by Mad 4WD of North Lima, Oh. Mad 4wd is a leader in the offroad rock crawling and trophy truck industry that specializes in axle housings and custom fabrications and will continue their support of the Joe Sylvester Motorsports Team in 2007.
Crew Chief: Joe Sylvester Motorsports is looking for a crew chief for 2007. Experience with monster trucks is a plus but is not required. Must be clean and professional and be willing to travel. A class "A" CDL liscense is not required but will allow for higher salary. "We want someone who is just as enthusiastic about the sport as we are to be an integral part of our operation." Resumes and questions can be sent to Joe@joesylvestermotorsports.com. First Quarter 2007: Joe Sylvester Motorsports and the Bad Habit Monster Truck will be running with Checkered Flag Productions, Goliath Enterprises, Monster Jam, and The Monster Nationals. "I am very excited about our schedule for the first quarter of 2007. The truck will be fresh and tight and I will be ready to rock and roll!" Head over to JoeSylvesterMotorsports.com to see when they will be rolling through your town in 2007! MTRA: Joe Sylvester is an MTRA class "B" driver and is about half way to getting his class "A" liscense. "I hope to have my class "A" license by the end of the first quarter." The Bad Habit truck has also undergone a few modifications and will be certified in '07. "I look forward to seeing everyone at the banquet next month and finally getting the chance to meet Bob Chandler and check out the Bigfoot shop!" Thanks Joe, for the updates, we look forward to seeing you at the banquet!! (11/24/06)
Happy Thanksgiving From The
Monster Blog!!:
Hey all, Ross Bonar of The Monster Blog here. Just wanted to take a second
today and wish
First Look at New Reaper Scheme!!: The Reaper is getting an all new look for 2007, and owner Larry Quick was kind enough to give The Monster Blog an exclusive preview of the new design! Working with the fine folks at Vinyl Images, Inc., Larry and the team have come up with a sharp new design that is sure to stand out as the Reaper tours the country this year. Larry and crew are traveling down to Fenton, MO to have the new scheme applied by Vinyl Images next week, so expect more pictures of the finished product right here on The Monster Blog!! It appears as though Vinyl Images has another winner on their hands, and Larry Quick wanted to make sure to send them out a big thank you for their hard work. For more information on the Reaper, check out their website at ReaperRacing4x4.com, and for more on Vinyl Images, Inc., head on over to VinylImagesInc.com!! (11/23/06)
Blackburne To Debut Viper!!: Rich Blackburne was kind enough to drop a line to give us a preview of what he has planned for the upcoming season. Demon fans, get ready for the Viper!! This will be the new name of the truck driven by Rich Blackburne for at least the first part of 2007. According to Rich, it was a change that some promoters wanted, and he is really hoping the new name and graphics will appeal to fans. Rich is excited to debut the new paint scheme, and will do so at the CFP Winter Nationals in Trenton, NJ January 5th-6th.
After finishing
fourth overall on the CFP tour last year, Rich is ready to run for the top
spot and will have some new sponsor support behind him!! RTB
Enterprises is now sponsored by Sign Options / Crazy Fish Graphics out of
the Chicago, IL area. They will be vinyl wrapping the body and the hauler
for the 2007 season.
Happy Thanksgiving from
CFP!!:
(Bridgeport, TX) We stuff ‘em, bake ‘em, broil ‘em, even deep fat
fry ‘em and then cover ‘em up with gravy and feast on old Tom Turkey as we
sit with friends and family and give Thanks for all we have. Soon after we
stuff ourselves and finish talking all the things we do with family we
have not seen for many months, our minds drift away to racing! New Trucks: We have a bunch of new trucks on tap for our 2007 tour. Most notably will be the T-Maxx and Sudden Impact trucks that will be running for the Winter Championship. Last year they ran a limited schedule, but this year you will see them on the schedule almost every weekend. The other guy to watch will be Rob French in his Monster Corvette!! It’s an all new Corvette bodied racer with an all new Patrick chassis and a huge motor. French says, “We are not coming back to the CFP Series half-prepared. Two years ago I brought the Bad Boy truck out and almost won it and that truck was nothing compared to what I am bringing now! This time I am bringing a huge advantage and that is me with a good attitude and a kick butt truck!" New Rules: This year a truck only has to have 5 nights of racing to qualify for the Championship Point Average. Also this year the 3 spectators will judge the Freestyle portion of each event, and that is how we will establish freestyle points.
There are also new
venues this year, including the addition of Cincinnati Gardens - among
several others that are being negotiated now. Last year the series drew
National exposure of being the only Indoor Monster Truck Racing Series and
it went down to the wire to present a Champion, and that ended up being a
privateer effort. Not Team Bigfoot or Team Ram that had factory sponsored
involvement and hired pilots for their trucks…oh no, it was Brad Campbell
beating all them and more in the final race of the year in Pocatello at
the ISU Dome on Saturday night, April 8, 2006. Monster Moose was the
victor and he did it winning racing and freestyle points for the night.
McGruff Team Update!!:
The McGruff crew is hard at work in preparation for the 2007 season and
owner Rod Wood took a moment to give TheMonsterBlog.com an exclusive
update!! The team is currently making some minor additions to the
paint scheme used at the Sanderson Ford AMP Tour event earlier this year,
but that will be the look of McGruff for the beginning of '07. McGruff is
currently booked with Live Nation Motorsports to run at this winter's
Phoenix, Albuquerque, and Tucson Monster Jams, and will also make
appearances for WGAS Motorsports and other promoters throughout the year.
