MLMT PR: Date Change Announcement:  (Lubbock, TX) Since the MLMT conception in the fall of 2006, it has been about changing the direction of an industry. It has been about giving Individuals, Teams, and Sponsors opportunities they never had before and delivering to fans a new and exciting twist on something they have loved for a long time.
When we debuted the product last summer, we debuted a product which fans, sponsors, and TV networks had never seen. In a very short amount of time, we have been able to take the MLMT to a level many thought was unattainable for years to come. This has been accomplished by many long hours of hard work and sacrifice by our staff, and commitment from the teams and relationships with the speedways. In addition, we did not lose sight of our goals and long range plans for the MLMT. Of course in any and all great undertakings there are many unforeseen twists and turns to making a successful product.
One of the most important elements to making the MLMT what it can be, is the TV element that is now in place with Versus. What will continue to separate our product in both live event and televised, is the focus on the drivers, as the stars of the MLMT. With the very short time frame allotted for us with the TV opportunity, we have had to make difficult decisions based on what is best long term for the MLMT, the Monster Truck Industry, the teams, and sponsors.
The MLMT will be shot entirely in HD and with the TV contract just being completed last week, it is going to force us to make changes to our schedule due to the availability of TV production trucks, TV Talent, and staffing. We are going to move the Memphis and Atlanta Dates. The new date for Memphis is August 9th. We will be announcing the Atlanta date later today and it will be later in the summer as well. This must be done, as the impression we initially make with our TV will set the course for our success in the future. We will not let our TV product be thrown together from a production standpoint and missing two very important events would not give us a product reflective of what the MLMT is and this industry is capable of. We understand that this change will mean some short term sacrifices for all of us, but it is what is best long term for the MLMT and the opportunities for this industry to grow. These schedule changes could not have been accomplished in such a short amount of time without the continued hard work of Jason Rittenberry and his staff at Memphis Motorsports Park and Ed Clarke, Brandon Hutchinson and Ted Austad and their entire staff at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. We will also be announcing some new dates to help fulfill our Televisions and sponsorship Commitments. Our first event this year will now be at the Texas Motor Speedway Saturday June 21st.
Sometimes we must take a step backwards to be able to move ten steps forward. We will not put out a product that is not reflective of our long range planning and the vision of the MLMT and the Monster Truck Industry.

      Joe Froome

- “Thanks to Dusten for fixing my shocks, he is the reason I am receiving the Extreme Air of the Year Award from that run in Minneapolis ,” said Extreme Air of the Year Winner, Dennis Anderson, Grave Digger.

- “The good lord blesses me with talent, and although there is not a lot I can do, I guess I sure can do a wheelie,” said Stadium Wheelie of the Year Winner, Bobby Parr, Suzuki monster truck.

- “I have to thank my wife, because she let’s me go on the road and perform even when I miss our anniversary, her birthday, and a lot of the other important events in our lives,” said Save of the Year Winner, Don Frankish, Jurassic Attack.

- “I accept this on behalf of all other female drivers, and there needs to be more,” said Kristy Edge, Rookie of the Year. “Dawn Creten, you are an inspiration to me. Your freestyle run last night was incredible.”

- “It was desperation more than anything; I didn’t want to let the fans down. Then the chassis broke, and I just held on. Tom kept telling me that he thought I would get an award for this, and here I am…thank you,” said Neil Elliot, Maximum Destruction, Crash Madness Award Winner.

- “This award represents small and big contributions to the sport. We’re living the dream and doing it for then fans, and more importantly we’re doing it together and that’s what makes it all worth it,” said Sportsman of the Year Winner, Trey Meyers, Iron Warrior.

- “I used to run this truck for myself, but since 1999 I’ve been running it for the fans. My freestyle was what it was, but all of you young up and coming drivers are really pushing me and all of us even harder – thanks to each of you for doing that,” said Dennis Anderson, Grave Digger, winner of the Stadium Freestyle of the Year Award.

- “We haven’t been at this a long time, but we work hard to be our best. Our team includes not only the drivers, crew, and sponsors, but most importantly our family, and we couldn’t do this without them,” said Steve Sims, driver of Stone Crusher, and manager of Monster Trucks Limited – Team of the Year.

- “Last night was unbelievable. We did have some issues with the truck, but we tried to keep the truck running and raced our best,” said 2008 Monster Jam Racing World Champion John Seasock, Batman monster truck.

- “This is unbelievable to me, and to do this after only three years in the business is amazing. After that freestyle run last night, I’m just happy I’m alive,” said Adam Anderson, 2008 Monster Jam Freestyle World Champion. “And dad – I’m so glad I beat you (laughing, referring to his legendary dad, Dennis Anderson, driver of Grave Digger).”

John Seasock & Adam Anderson Crowned Monster Jam World Finals Champions!!:  (Aurora, IL) The 9th annual Monster Jam® NGK Spark Plugs World Finals is in the books as John Seasock drove the Batman™ monster truck to its second consecutive Monster Jam Racing World Championship and Taz™ the Monster Truck won the Monster Jam Freestyle World Championship in front of a sell-out crowd of 36,954 fans at Las Vegas’ Sam Boyd Stadium that stood for the entire show.
“Last year’s racing win was awesome, but this year feels even better because I defended it,” said Seasock as he climbed into the stands signing autographs for his avid fans after his win. “I am so proud of the Batman monster truck and the hard work that I’ve put into it. I’ve had a lot of support along the way, and I’m looking forward to defending my championship in 2009 and going for my third-straight Monster Jam NGK Spark Plugs World Finals Championship.”

Seasock raced the Batman monster truck to the world racing championship by knocking off Bounty Hunter in the championship, in addition to Captain’s Curse™ in the semi-finals, Air-Force in the quarter-finals, and the Taz™ monster truck in round two. Being one of the eight fastest qualifiers earned Seasock a bye in the opening round with his 6th position qualifying time at the Double Down qualifiers on Friday night.
After becoming the first monster truck to ever clear a triple jump, Monster Mutt® Dalmatian set the tone for the 24 trucks in freestyle in front of a very loud Sam Boyd Stadium. Monster Mutt dalmatian scored a 32, and held the NGK World Finals Hot Seat through nine freestyle runs until Dawn Creten’s Scarlet Bandit finally knocked the monster truck off the seat with an even more impressive freestyle run that also included a triple jump that ended in a cartwheel barrel roll that landed on all four wheels, and a score of 36.
Not to be outdone, Adam Anderson and the Taz™ monster truck put up an epic freestyle run, ousting Creten and Scarlet Bandit from the NGK World Finals Hot Seat after she held the seat for 12 consecutive freestyle runs. The Taz monster truck recorded a 37 out of 40, which was highlighted by clearing the triple, a 20 second tornado donut – twice, and he simply dominated every obstacle on the track with an emotion that Adam has become famous for. This is the Taz monster truck’s first ever Monster Jam NGK Spark Plugs World Finals world championship.

“All year long I’ve been pushing and pushing, it’s been a great year; there are no words to describe how I feel”, said a tearful Adam Anderson as he embraced his father Dennis Anderson and younger brother Ryan. “ Las Vegas , you fans are the best in the world and I can’t thank you enough for your support.”

Monster Jam to Air on CBS!!:  (Aurora, IL) Live Nation Motor Sports Inc., announced today that Monster Jam®, the largest touring monster truck property in the world, will be featured for the second year in a row in a one-hour segment on CBS Sports Sunday, April 27 at Noon EST.
After earning a 1.1 Nielson Rating, which equals 1,100,000 households and 2,400,000 viewers, last April in the first Monster Jam broadcast on network television in nearly two decades, CBS Sports will once again showcase a one-hour package that will feature the top racing and freestyle highlights of the 2008 Monster Jam tour as well as highlights, behind-the-scenes footage and exclusive interviews from the culminating Monster Jam NGK Spark Plugs World Finals at Las Vegas’ Sam Boyd Stadium.
It’s only fitting to bring Monster Jam to network television. To date, Monster Jam is on pace to set an all-time attendance record, which is expected to surpass last year’s record of 4 million fans attending 125 tour stops and 325 performances around the world. In mid-January Monster Jam shattered its all-time one-weekend attendance record, packing seven stadiums over 12 performances with 437,616 fans. The following month another Monster Jam milestone was reached as 70,611 fans packed Jacksonville Stadium, and on the same weekend at the New Orleans’ Superdome, the venue hosted its first Monster Jam since Hurricane Katrina, attracting a record 60,217 fans.
The Monster Jam World Finals is one of Las Vegas’ top yearly destination events, attracting attendees from all 50 states, eight Canadian Provinces and over 12 countries. It is one of the top 10 sponsored events per year in Las Vegas by the Las Vegas Visitors and Convention Authority providing a $15 million-plus economic impact to the city.
“We are elated to bring Monster Jam to network television for the second consecutive year,” said Charlie Mancuso, president, Live Nation Motor Sports, Inc. “While we are on the verge of another record year for Monster Jam in terms of live event attendance, television viewers, www.MonsterJamOnline.com unique users and outside corporate involvement, we want to continue to push the Monster Jam brand to higher levels, and network television reaching as many people as possible is another way we are accomplishing this.”
Monster Jam’s popularity has expanded into the gaming world with the fall release of Monster Jam the video game, produced by Activision. An instant hit, Monster Jam the video game has sold over a half-million units to date domestically. This compliments the 40-plus licensees under the Monster Jam brand.

MLMT Announces VERSUS Will Cover 2008 Season!!:  (Lubbock, TX) The Major League of Monster Trucks (MLMT) today announced VERSUS, the sports network that celebrates real competition in all its forms, will air the non-scripted reality show that will take fans behind the scenes and give them a unique insight to all the action of the 2008 MLMT season. Following the success of its inaugural 2007 season, the MLMT will stop at nine premier NASCAR tracks throughout the country during the 2008 national tour.
“Traditionally, monster truck events have taken place in small sports arenas, county fairgrounds and in larger cities, domes or stadiums,” said Joe Froome, MLMT CEO. “These cramped arenas, coupled with the fact that the races are generally staged, have limited the abilities of the monster truck drivers and their trucks. We are the first legitimate monster truck racing sanctioning body with a points and purse series that promotes the drivers and their trucks - real racing for a real championship at real race tracks, truly the next generation of monster trucks.”
The show will follow MLMT drivers before, during and after each race throughout the 2008 season and showcase all the action exclusively in HD. The 13-episode season will begin December 6, 2008 and run every Saturday continuously from 4 p.m. – 5 p.m. until February 28, 2009. Additionally, each episode is scheduled to re-air the following Tuesday from 4 p.m. – 5 p.m. Series production is slated to begin at the MLMT’s 2008 season opener.

“We are very excited to add the MLMT, an up-and-coming sports league, to our diverse programming lineup,” said Mandy Orzo, director of acquisitions and strategic planning for VERSUS.
“Teaming with VERSUS, a network available to more than 74 million homes nationwide, provides a great opportunity to show viewers what the MLMT is all about,” Froome said.
The MLMT consists of top monster truck teams in the country. The drivers will be competing for the highest cash purse in monster truck history - $100,000. After the racing concludes, the trucks go all out in freestyle competition where each of the trucks will be judged on strategic bus crushing, airplane jumping, donut making and skilled trick performances - all with a added dash of pure mayhem by each truck.
“CAUTION! DO NOT TRY THIS INDOORS,” says Debrah Miceli, executive vice president of MLMT. “I have done traditional indoor shows in the past and there is no way we could do this indoors. For example, the MLMT has developed a track where trucks jump each other during the race - we are truly the next generation of monster trucks.”
“Fans only see a fraction of what the drivers go through on race day,” said David Hall, MLMT’s television advisor. “Now monster truck fans can see first-hand what happens between, before and after each race.” Hall is the former president of TNN and was instrumental in bringing monster truck racing to television in the 1990’s.
Joe Sylvester, driver of Bad Habit, agrees. “We work hard between races to get our trucks in top form,” he said. “Like all professional sports, a lot happens that fans don’t get to see – now they can.”
At this year's events, points scored at each event for racing and freestyle competitions count towards the MLMT national championship where the winner is crowned at the Monster Ball Awards at the end of the season. For more information please visit www.MLMT.com.

Blackjack Monster Truck Makes History In D.C.!!:  We received the following update from Jay Snyder with some great photos by Cathy Snyder:  "To the best of our knowledge, history was made in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, March 16th during the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. For the first time ever, a monster truck was driven down Constitution Ave, right past world famous government buildings, museums, and monuments including the White House (No word as to weather President Bush was home when we passed the White House, but we thought we saw someone peaking out of the window!), the National Archives, and the Washington Monument.

It was a beautiful afternoon as the Blackjack Monster Ride Truck out of Hagerstown, MD. joined the annual procession of Irish themed floats and musical groups, marching bands, fire trucks, cool cars and Shriners in go-carts, as they made their way down the main boulevard of our Nation’s Capital. Blackjack was invited to participate by the Capital Club of DC, a charity fundraising and social group that has been involved with the parade for the past 5-years. Some of the Club’s excited members got to ride in the back of the truck and wave at the thousands of spectators that cheered out as they passed.

The highlight of the trip was the tight figure-8 maneuver that driver Harley Waple made right in front of the judges reviewing stands. Although nearby security agents looked a little nervous, truck owner Dave Waple was not, because he had two senior crew members with RII’s in hand to closely monitor the action. And Blackjack won the award for Best Novelty!

If anyone knows of any monster truck ever driving through downtown DC before, please let me know! I’ve lived in DC my entire life and have never heard of this happening. For more info on the Blackjack monster ride truck, check us out at www.MarylandMonsters.com!!"  (03/26/08)

Obsession Racing Update!!: (Menifee, CA) Last Saturday night we were in Victorville, CA for the Outlaw Monster Truck Spectacular. It was a four truck field of monsters and an all freestyle show that was divided up into three rounds. In between the monster truck rounds they ran Tuff Trucks and Mud Bogs.

We are pleased to say that Rick drove the Obsession monster truck to wins in the first two rounds and tied in the last round. The Victorville crowd got to see both Rick and Eric driving their Obsessions. Eric raced in his trophy cart against the tuff trucks and won one round. One of the big hits of the night was when Eric jumped in his Dad's monster truck to a standing ovation from the crowd as he drove around the track on his own. Dad was on the sideline with the kill radio in hand standing proud of his future monster truck driver. He did a great job for a twelve year old!!
This weekend we will be on display in Las Vegas for Live Nation Motorsports. We hope to you there. For more information on Obsession, visit www.ObsessionRacing.com!!  (03/26/08)

"Road to the World Finals" Over, All Twenty-Four Trucks Announced!!:  The Monster Jam regular season is in the books, and TheMonsterBlog.com's "Road to the World Finals" Unofficial Point Standings is complete!!  We are proud to recognize Dennis Anderson as Monster Jam's top driver in the 2008 season under our comprehensive, unofficial ranking system. Anderson had a great season behind the wheel of Grave Digger XX with victories in Monster Jam events big and small. Tom Meents in Maximum Destruction was great this season also, and together the two drivers finished well ahead of the rest of the pack.

The whole reason TheMonsterBlog.com decided to run an unofficial ranking system for the Monster Jam series was so that drivers' accomplishments during the regular season could be recognized. Live Nation's process for selecting the official World Finalists each year is not made public, so what ends up happening is a lot of guessing as to who "deserves" a shot at the championships. Our point system uses the actual results from the season to place all drivers on an equal scale, so that we can see which 24 drivers performed best over the course of the season. So, which drivers ended up earning the right to compete at the World Finals based on their performance alone this year?  See below for the Top 30 drivers in our "Road the World Finals" unofficial standings:

X - Driver officially named as 2008 World Finalist by Monster Jam officials.

We would like to take a moment to congratulate all of the drivers on the list above for their outstanding performances on the Monster Jam tour this season.
Live Nation has announced the twenty-four trucks that will compete at this year's World Finals, with drivers still to be announced for the Live Nation-owned Blue Thunder, Pastrana 199, and Monster Mutt Dalmation machines. See below for the complete list of World Finalists, with their final ranking in the "Road to the World Finals" unofficial standings noted in parentheses:

- Dennis Anderson, Grave Digger (1st)

- Tom Meents, Maximum Destruction (2nd)

- Jimmy Creten, Bounty Hunter (4th)

- Charlie Pauken, Monster Mutt (5th)

- George Belhan, Escalade (8th)

- Alex Blackwell, Captain's Curse (11th)

- Mark MacDonald, Safe Auto Minimizer (12th)

- Adam Anderson, Taz (14th)

- Kreg Christensen, Iron Outlaw (17th)

- Mike Vaters, Black Stallion (20th)

- Damon Bradshaw, Air Force Afterburner (22nd)

- Jim Koehler, Avenger (23rd)

- John Seasock, Batman (24th)

----------------------------------------------------

- Chad Fortune, Superman (27th)

- David Smith, King Krunch (28th)

- Steve Simms, Stone Crusher (30th)

- Bobby Parr, Team Suzuki (31st)

- Dawn Creten, Scarlet Bandit (33rd)

- Frank Krmel, Donkey Kong (36th)

- Dan Evans, Destroyer (46th)

- Driver TBA, Blue Thunder (N/A)

- Driver TBA, Pastrana 199 (N/A)

- Driver TBA, Monster Mutt Dalmation (N/A)

Check out our "Road to the World Finals" section for the complete final standings (71 drivers scored points this season), as well as all of the results from the season and an explanation of how points were calculated. We hope you enjoyed TheMonsterBlog.com's "Road to the World Finals" feature this winter, and be watching for more coverage as Monster Jam crowns its World Racing and Freestyle Champions later this month in Las Vegas!!  (03/17/08)

MEGA Monster Truck Tour Rocks Sedalia!!:  The MEGA Monster Truck Tour made its way back to Sedalia, MO this weekend for its annual event in the Matthewson Exhibition Center. Five trucks would compete in racing and freestyle competitions including Predator, Monster Patrol, Viper, Prowler, and Wild Thang. Racing would see a great match-up in the first round between Allen Pezo in Predator and Rich Blackburne in Viper. Pezo seemed to have the lead at the start, but Blackburne charged hard over the dirt hill and edged out Predator in an incredibly close race. Lenny Kuilder in Prowler was running strong Saturday night and made his way to the finals against Blackburne. After Pezo grabbed the third place race win over Doug Charles in Monster Patrol, the stage was set for the finals. In another close race, Blackburne managed to edge out Kuilder for the Saturday night racing victory!!

Lenny Kuilder kicked off freestyle in Prowler with an impressive, high-energy run. Kuilder managed a couple of nice ninety-degree wheelstands, and had a close call when he nearly tipped over on the side.

The racing winner Rich Blackburne in Viper came roaring out of the pits and put on a short, but very sweet freestyle run. Three hits on the car stack, each resulting in a nice wheelie, but the last one was the definitely the best, as we Rich walked the truck across the set.

Doug Charles in Monster Patrol got the crowd charged up right off the bat, opening his run with a nice donut in the center of the floor. As Charles approached the car set for the first time, he nailed the gas and launched Monster Patrol vertical, spiking the tailgate into the car set as the crowd went wild. One more big hit on the cars and that was all for Charles as a front shock blew out, but not before he managed to put on a great show for the Sedalia fans.

Only one truck remained and the was Allen Pezo in Predator. Pezo came flying out of the tunnel at full speed and began charging around the arena at an incredible pace. Highlighted by one huge leap on the car set and a great cyclone to wrap things up, the judges saw all they needed to throw up three tens for a perfect thirty score making Pezo the freestyle winner!!

MEGA Promotions celebrated their one-year anniversary in style with an excellent show in Sedalia, MO. The MEGA Monster Truck Tour will be back this summer, so keep watching our schedule to see where they will stop next. A special thanks to Linda Beckley, Dave Jackson, and the whole MEGA crew for their hospitality this weekend. Photo gallery and highlight video coming your way soon from the event, stay tuned!!  (03/16/08)

MLMT Truck Numbering System Clarification!!:  (Lubbock, TX) The numbering system that the Major League of Monster Trucks is instituting this season is not meant to replace the names of the trucks that the fans and drivers have gotten to know over the years. The numbering system is designed to enhance the experience of the fans to better identify their trucks in addition to being used as a tool for the MLMT to track each truck through its timing and scoring system.

Sample of truck design with number.

With this being a new system for the competitors each truck will be required to affix their designated number to the windshield and on the side of the truck. For the initial events it will not be necessary to display the truck number on the door of the truck as long as it is visible on both sides of the trucks. This will help teams to incorporate the number into their truck design as the season progresses.
Due to the fact that the racing surface is much larger at the speedways it is important for the fans to be able to see the trucks number from all points of view. The MLMT is also recommend-ing that a large number is also displayed on the roof of the truck as this would be easier for the fans to see and not take up so much prime space on the side of the truck. For more information on the Major League of Monster Trucks, head on over to www.MLMT.com!!  (03/14/08)

TheMonsterBlog.com Interviews Everett Jasmer!!:  TheMonsterBlog.com recently had the privilege of sitting down with legendary monster truck figure Everett Jasmer, owner of the famous USA-1 monster truck. Jasmer has invested almost 30 years of his life into monster trucks. But as Everett sees it, the last half of that 30 years has been spent going backwards. So every day for the last 15 years, Jasmer has reported for work at his USA-1 shop in Ham Lake, Minnesota. Every day Everett has worked the phones from morning until evening, doing everything in his power to see his dream of a legitimate racing series become a reality. Every day, trying—trying to push the industry he helped create to realize its true potential. But now, after those 15 long years, Jasmer has come to a realization of his own—his days of trying are numbered. As he pursues a sale of the USA-1 operation, he took time to speak with us about his situation. Check out our interview by clicking the link below!!  (03/14/08)

New RII Radio System to Be Used By MLMT!!:  (Lubbock, TX) Once again this year at all competitions, the Major League of Monster Trucks (MLMT) will be using its own RII Radio System which was designed, tested and approved exclusively for the MLMT. With the large purse at stake and the continued efforts of providing the safest environment for the MLMT competitors, it was necessary to upgrade the radio systems currently being used in the monster truck racing industry.
The MLMT radio system is based on a numerical system opposed to other systems which identify trucks as a right, left or center lane. Each radio’s number will match with a transponder assigned to each truck each weekend. The units are simple and plug into each truck’s current RII unit. The MLMT system is installed during the technical inspection and then removed after the event. There is no cost to the teams to utilize this system.
With this system each truck has a unique frequency that eliminates the accidental activation of its RII unit by another competitor or staff member checking another radio. This system will help in the future growth of the sport with the possibility of multiple trucks competing on the same track where there is more than a right or left lane.
The Major League of Monster Trucks will be debuting in its inaugural season this spring April 26th at the Memphis Motorsports Park. For more information and regular updates on the MLMT go to www.MLMT.com. (03/12/08)

Anderson Clinches Top Spot on "Road to the World Finals"!!:  Dennis Anderson dominated the Monster Jam season in 2008, and secured the #1 spot in our "Road to the World Finals" unofficial point standings this past weekend!!  Anderson holds a thirteen-point lead over Tom Meents going into the final weekend of regular season competition before the Monster Jam World Finals, and that margin is enough to seal the deal. Teammates Meents and Neil Elliot hold the #2 and #3 spots overall and are likely to remain there, while Jimmy Creten and Charlie Pauken round the top five.

Defending Monster Jam World Finals Racing Champ John Seasock has been shuffled back into the all-important 24th position with only one week of competition left before the Finals, but he is likely safe as he holds out a seven-point margin over Daron Basl in 25th position. Chad Fortune and David Smith are next on the list and could mathematically crack the top 24, but they will need strong performances this weekend.
Monster Jam officials have announced 22 of the 24 trucks competing in this year's World Finals (with their position in the "Road to the World Finals" standings in parentheses):

- Dennis Anderson, Grave Digger (1st)

- Tom Meents, Maximum Destruction (2nd)

- George Belhan, Escalade (8th)

- Adam Anderson, Taz (12th)

- Mark MacDonald, Safe Auto Minimizer (13th)

Extras Welcome for "Sunday, Sunday, Sunday" Pilot Filming!!:  (The Times-Pacyune) If you've ever wanted to be in show business, next week may be your opportunity. Filming for Disney's new Jetix channel's pilot "Sunday, Sunday, Sunday" will take place March 16 at A-1 Raceway located at 32063 Louisiana 36 in Lacombe, LA. The pilot is about a family that's into monster trucking, and the filming will include a monster truck crushing a trailer, said A-1 Racetrack owner Ronnie Marshall. The event begins at 10 a.m. and all volunteers who want to be in a scene are welcome. In addition to watching the monster trucks on the track, volunteers will be entered into a raffle to win one of two flat-screen televisions. For directions, head on over to www.A1Raceway.net!!  (03/09/08)

KC's Fireworks Unveils Australia's New Batman Monster Truck!!:  KC's Fireworks released the first photos of the mostly completed, new Batman monster truck this week!!  The most notable change is obviously the sharp looking new body, modeled by Warner Bros to look more like the popular American version operated by LiveNation Motorsports.

Many additions to the truck have been made to accompany the new identity, including flame-throwers installed in the rockets on back of the body, neons, spinner wheels with the famous bat-wings, a streamer-shooting cannon, and even a brand new 541 cubic inch, aluminum big block engine. Plans are also being made to pump up the crowd when Batman enters the arena--the famous Batman searchlights will come on, pyrotechnics will go off, and KC's Fireworks giant 9 x 7.5 meter big screen (Australia's largest LED screen) will show Batmobile footage as the truck enters.
Australia's Batman monster truck will be piloted by rookie driver Jaye Featherby, who may very well be the world's youngest monster truck driver at the age of 14. Jaye claimed that title one month ago in Toomwoomba, Queensland, making his debut behind the wheel of Monster Patrol. He takes over the youngest driver title from brother Billy, the regular driver of the Scooby Doo monster truck. Combined with father and team owner Clive, driver of Outback Thunda, the Monsters Tour of Destruction is truly a family show.
A big thanks to Clive Featherby and the entire KC's Fireworks team for keeping us up to date on all the goings-on down under as part of the Monsters Tour of Destruction. Head on over to www.KCsFireworks.com for more information on the new Batman truck and more!!  (03/07/08)

MEGA Bytes - Winter Tour Recap!!: (Denton, TX) They said it couldn’t be done…they said it wouldn’t last…but hey guess what? We made it a FULL year!!  Mega Promotions is running strong and having a blast!
The first quarter of 2008 was successful, starting off in Kearney, NE on January 11th and 12th at the Buffalo County Expo in front of 2 packed houses. That weekend was special as it was the debut weekend for Bill Payne’s new monster truck, “Deal Breaker”, and what a debut it was, as Bill himself rolled the new NASCAR-bodied truck in the second night of freestyle. Shell-Camino, owned and driven by Shelly Kujat, surprised everybody by winning racing on the second night as well. Big thanks to Dave Roseberry for a great job preparing the facility for a great weekend.

Next stop on the tour was Cape Girardeau, MO January 18th and 19th at Southeast Missouri State University’s Show Me Center. Manager Greg Talbut was a huge help in our efforts to wow the crowd and that’s what the monster trucks did. The home state Big Dawg, owned and driven by Union, MO’s Doug Noelke, put it on everybody in racing and tied Bill Payne’s Rock Star for top freestyle honors.
Then it was down south to Ardmore, OK and the famed Hardy Murphy Coliseum, where the Hall Brothers Racing team made a big splash as Geremie Dishman, the 2004 MTRA Rookie Of the Year and the 2006 Outdoor National Champion, drove the Raminator to victory in all races and tied Rockstar for freestyle champ. Thanks to Tim Lynch for being a great host.
February 8th and 9th was Mega Promotions' first time in Starkville, MS and the Horsepark Arena was the home of the Mega Monster Truck Tour stop number 4. Bricklee Miller is one of the most dedicated professionals in venue management. Thank you Bricklee for a great weekend. It was Rock Star and Raminator at it again for top freestyle honors. In racing Raminator raced Wild Thang, Monster Patrol, Rock Star and Deal Breaker and went undefeated again for the second straight weekend.
The weatherman was not very nice on the next stop in Enid, OK and by that we mean the “weather man” not mother nature. A call for ice and snow may have scared some people away but the fans in attendance saw a spectacular one night affair with Bill Payne driving both Rock Star and Deal Breaker to awesome freestyle performances. Raminator was not on the winning side of racing this night because the Wild Thang driven by Off Road Center’s Dave Brown put it on everybody that night. Steve Barnes and Sherry Baumgardner went over and beyond to make it a night to remember for all of us.
But wait there’s more--one more first quarter show is coming up Saturday, March 15th and Sunday, March 16th at the Mathewson Expo Coliseum in Sedalia, MO.  Kirk Dabney's Monster Patrol and Wild Thang will have their hands full with Allen Pezo’s bunch from Brentwood, TN including Predator and Prowler, and just added to the lineup, Viper is back! Tickets go on sale soon at all Break Time Stores and at the box office.
Want to extend a thank you to Bill Payne, Tim Hall, and Kirk Dabney, owners of the 2008 Mega Tour monster trucks. Without them and their drivers efforts, our shows would not have been as off the hook! As always, watch www.MegaPromotionsTour.com for all of the updated information and next time you see a Mega Promotions show, stop by and say hi to the Mega Team. Thanks from the Mega Team for helping us make our first year such a blessed one and look out year #2!!  (03/04/08)

"Road to the World Finals" Unofficial Standings Heating Up!!:  From Week Two on, Dennis Anderson has dominated the Monster Jam tour this season, but with only two weeks of racing left, Tom Meents has closed the gap!!  Meents doubled down in Maximum Destruction in the final stadium show of the regular season, while Anderson grabbed a freestyle win in the small arena Lexington, KY event. This resulted in Meents gaining 38 points on Anderson, closing the gap from 1st to 2nd to a mere 9 points!!  Neil Elliot, Jimmy Creten, Charlie Pauken, Randy Brown, Pablo Huffaker, George Belhan, Linsey Weenk, and Gary Porter round the top 10 in the unofficial standings.

The big mover this week was Candace Jolly, who made the finals in racing and took third in freestyle at the El Paso Monster Jam this past weekend. The strong performance vaulted her into the 22nd position overall. Former freestyle champ Jim Koehler and Avenger dropped to the hot seat, now sitting in the 24th position in the unofficial standings this week, as Daron Basl in El Matador now becomes the odd man out. Basl now sits 25th overall, with Chad Fortune 26th, and David Smith 27th, all less than five points out of the final spot.
Monster Jam officials have started to announce this year's official World Finals lineup, and the following have been awarded the right to compete for the season titles (with their position in the "Road to the World Finals" standings in parentheses):
